I still insist that phantoms aren't worth power. I don't have as much as a problem with transmigrate as I do with lich. With transmigrate, if I kill you, you're GONE. Unlike lich, where you have to kill everyone twice, making for much more annoying raids.

Phantoms are passive afflictions (not useless ones either) and passive damage. That's like... having Darkseed cost 0P instead of 8P, since Phantoms can do entangle too tongue.gif I know Darkseed is more useful than phantoms, but still - they are in the same vein. Targetted darkmoon causes passive afflictions and defence stripping for 5p. Is passive defence stripping at the cost of no damage really worth 5p? The only difference between it and phantoms is that one does defence stripping and the other causes damage, but the defence stripping makes it 5p, whereas the damage one is free.

Meh, it just seems better than any other skill that does passive afflictions over time targetted on a person with no cure.
Sylphas2006-10-10 01:54:32
I don't think it's worth 5p, or 8p, but it's worth 1p at the least. It's incredibly good for not costing power. Far less useful things cost lots of power.

Can someone please post the tracker announce here.... I just deleted it and am too cranky to go back and find it
Diamondais2006-10-12 04:36:00
There.

Greetings Trackers,

Just a few changes/additions leftover from the September mini report,
though there are still more to come:

- Trackers with Deepseahunter can now camouflage on natural waters.
- Trackers with Deepseahunter have a new command: SWIFTSWIM .
- Trackers with Treehunter can now CLING to trees.
- If you tumble underwater, you should no longer end up in a pit!
- Deadfall traps now cause concussion.
- Ghosts and Souls can CLIMB UP out of pits.

uhh, prints DOES work off prime. It just doesn't notice anything that isn't on a natural environment. Prints works fine in in EtherWilde or Faethorn for example. I've never tried it but wouldn't it work on Earth too? On prime it wouldn't work on flooded roads, but forested and wyrded ones would be okay. Did you mean you want it to work on urban environments too?

The rest of the stuff you suggested would be really nice. And uh... what did the Deadfall trap do before the change?

EDIT: Oops, this was all directed to Ildaudid

Usually... USUALLY.. we try to make things clear in our posts. Unfortunately we can't bold in news announcements.

How can a dream body even fall into one?

Prints do not work on earth, hell I can't get prints to work in water on prime anymore much less bond seek lets say coffin fish (hope that was some bug that they are fixing) Some of the other stuff I mentioned were things I was told that were supposed to be put into effect 14 days after the pit nerf. That is why I am asking if they are still doing that or if they are not. And dead fall was just some damage I think, no one used it before because it was a waste.
Xavius2006-10-12 19:33:16
Prints work on natural animals that leave prints in environments. Elemental creatures are not natural animals (neither are thorn beasts, rocs, cockatrices, villagers, and a wide assortment of other things.) Fish do not leave prints. Neither do sharks, anemones, kestrels, or the like.
Unknown2006-10-12 19:35:33
Did you really expect to see prints in water?

EDIT: bah, should of read more. Anyways I can find fish, mantas and so forth fine in water with BOND SEEK. The only problem is that in the sea each elevation level counts as a different area, so you have to move down manually to each level and then seek. So... did you already know that and you want each sea to be one big area to make it easier?
Sylphas2006-10-12 20:08:53
We use Prints all the time in Estelbar to see if we have all the furrikin. Also, it shows the faelings and igasho and elfen that live in the commune. It defitely does show villagers.
Unknown2006-10-12 21:00:47
That's because Igasho are mostly animals, and any self respecting Faeling or Elfen child of the forest goes without shoes. tongue.gif

Darkmoon eh? I was almost certain that was only avalible as a targeted form via rage, otherwise it was the room-attack only. I'll have to look into that to confirm or deny.
Sylphas2006-10-12 21:09:53
You can target it anytime.

Thus another reason we were trying to envoy prints to be more effective, and if they work in ethereal fae why not ethereal catacombs? Its not if prints are an OP pvp skill capable of instantly fingerprinting someone who has status on a city/commune member and throwing them in jail tongue.gif

Prints used to be used during Seabattles if I remember right, they guaged how many devilfish were left per pop. They are not doing so now, also when trying to bond seek a coffin fish you cannot seek it, not because it isnt there. But it wont recognize coffin or coffin fish, if you bond seek fish it will bring you to a devil fish. I am not worried about the elevation part, It the whole seek thing, maybe it would work if the name coffin fish were changed to coffinfish but as it stands right now, prints that used to work, from what I was told (I wasnt a tracker back then) and bond seek (2 worded animals) dont seem to work effectively.

Oh and sorry Fain, more to come missed me, I wasn't sure if it was more tracking updates to come or not. I like what has come so far, I just don't know which ideas were nixed by the envoys/divine and which will actually be implemented. I am just anxious for 2 of the new ideas, the update to mountain tracker and the dog update smile.gif

Subj: Poison Change

The rate at which poisons afflict will increase as the level of damage
on the attacked body part increases. Note that this is calculated before
the damage of the attack is applied. Thus the first attack, when the
body part is at 0 damage, will not be impacted by this. But subsequent
attacks will have greater chance of poisoning if the body part is not
healed.

This seems like a big change to warriors... I wonder how big though.
Daganev2006-11-06 00:58:02
Hopefully it will make it so that people don't just ignore wounding levels on arms and gut.

Erm, but the better solution to that is to move wounds around to make all areas have an affliction to worry about, which is what we envoys were trying to do for pureblades and axelords sad.gif
Daganev2006-11-06 01:01:27
I don't know anything about the envoys, I'm just saying my reaction to that specific post, and I only know about bonecrushers.
