I don't know anything about the envoys, I'm just saying my reaction to that specific post, and I only know about bonecrushers.

Are brokenwrist and burstorgans really that ignorable?
Daganev2006-11-06 01:09:50
I think so.

Yep, they are.

No they're not. *peer*

Focus spirit does not cure phantoms. Only Critique - the trans art skill does. Oh, and I think mages can cure themselves for no power.

Yes they can! And others. Which is why Phantom -isn't- worth 5p. Furthermore, I think it would be more helpful if we didn't all compare one single skill to another single skill and say Look! make it the same! Perhaps it would be better to look at skillset/archetype holistically and see whether it needs nerfing or not. I don't like the prospect of a power cost to phantoms much, and I'm not sure to what extent I'm being biased. What I do know is that I'm not going to be convinced by an out of context one on one skill comparison.

Okay, let me rephrase. If you are in a real fight, and have things like selfishness/grippingartifact/pickuptrigger, then it's ignoreable. (Yeah, I am including slapknuckle there, but basically, brokenwrist just makes you not able to wield something for a while) And Burstorgans...whoever dies to burstorgans needs to be shot. tongue.gif

This seems like a big change to warriors... I wonder how big though.

I need more data but this was a big boost to 1 handers, they can now stack 2 venoms per strike much easier if the wound is deep.

2handers will make deepwounds faster but will still be dropping 1 venom per hit....

So in a superficial sense... it seems more geared to 1 handers..... we will have to wait and see.. But hopefully Roark has already accounted for this... (which is the norm for him wub.gif) so it may actually be evened out.

By the way when the nil are the PB/AL updates coming out?? Or are they going to be like tracking?? Told they would happen then have them dangled in your face only to be taken away??

Most guilds need to wield something to attack. Guardians, symbols. Mages, staves. Druids, cudgels. Wiccans, athames. Bards, their instruments(for -every- attack in their main skill). So you can't ignore it.

Also, to burstorgans, you make your own point. People don't die to it because they can't ignore it, else they would die.

except both are cureable instantly, and ignorable for a while(i.e. while you are off balance and for about 12 seconds), and don't take up other important cure slots.

Except that you usually shouldn't try for a damagekill on Warriors, which you seem to imply. Guardians can web, amissio/leech, etc without having to wield anything. Mages can use psionics/dreamweaving without having to wield anything, Druids can sap without wielding anything, Bards can us enchants without having to wield them. And if they have those skills, then they can hinder the Bonecrusher at least THAT much that they can cure brokenwrist and then rewield. And indeed, you cure Burstorgans. However, you can ignore it insofar that you could also sip allheale to cure it, you could cure it 16 after you get hit, etc.

EDIT: Also, let's not forget that both are critical, which is pretty damn high, and almost impossible to pull off on another warrior with a decent plate. And if I attack a soft target on the arms, they have nothing else to worry about for about 5 combos it takes me to get them to critical with them applying. If I am attacking your arms, I can't knockdown you/bashbrain you/mangle your leg.

Don't blame the admin on that one! We asked for the design suggestions by the end of the last month but the envoys wanted more time to tweak it.

Yeah, Soll, I think you should be more worried about slapknuckle. Anyone without gripping, or a gripping rune, is susceptible to that.

The main advantage of using it is, if they miss it or are off balance long enough, you can grab their weapon/shield and hold onto it for the duration of the fight. It removes their ability to parry, which is quite nice smile.gif

Some classes can resummon their weapon, but it takes time.

Brokenwrist is only really necessary against those with gripping runes, or warriors who have gripping (but, since they have plate, it makes it very very hard to achieve).

And burst organs...don't make me laugh. What a horrible delayed insta-kill. Only way to pull it off, as far as I know, is combo it with blackeye and have burstorgans hit during the black out. Possible, yeah, but a single diagnose in the 20 seconds it takes to go through and it's cured. Meh.
Shorlen2006-11-06 20:16:29
I blame the plethora of Envoys who have no opinion whatsoever about the PB/ALs sad.gif But yeah, don't blame the admins, blame us tongue.gif
Hiriako2006-11-06 20:42:22
I had an opinion, and I gave it! >.< To the envoys anyway, since I haven't been one in over a year.

From: Estarra, the Eternal
To : Everyone
Subj: Envoy Mini Reports (and some fixes)

- Sprinkling Salt and Sulfur uses balance instead of equilibrium. You
can also target others by sprinkling salt around them.
- Smudges now work at tree elevation levels.
- TotemReturn and NestReturn work across the known planes (prime,
ethereal, elemental, cosmic, astral) with varying degrees of power cost
and teleport times.
- Shrivel has been changed to shrivel 2 random limbs at a cost of 1
power.
- Wiccans that know the Mushrooms skill can use SPORELIST to list their
spores.
- There is a new skill in Night totem specialization (look it up!).
- If you have the Hermit skill, you can use HERMITLIST to list hermit
cards.
- Shanthmark and Paavik has been added to the Catacombs tarot.
- Medicinebags can be used without arm balance.
- Thornlash does not effect arm equilibrium as severely as it was.
- Tetrodin no longer causes deafness but rather health leech and has
been moved up on the poison list.
- Niricol now causes both deafness and blindness.
- Those with the Climb skill in Acrobatics can now climb trees.
- The length of time before a song ends depends on the Bard's combined
skill levels of Dramatics and Music.
- Sleepmist has been adjusted so it is not quite as strong.
- Selenelullaby will now work as the ab file indicates.
- There were bugs reported that maestro instruments weren't decreasing
equilibrium recovery as the help files indicated; however, all tests
proved they did decrease equilibrium recovery (up to .5 seconds). This
has been slightly upgraded.

SPORELIST!! w00t.gif Now I'll carry more spores since there's no need to sniff every single one when looking for the specific spore. biggrin.gif
