Guardians wouldn't happen to be next would they? tongue.gif

Was suggested a few pages back, but so people will be happy about sprint, how about making it have its own separate balance like walking (only not on walking's balance of course). It'd be something like this:

The Road (road).
sprint e
The East Road (road).
sprint e
No need to rush!
e
The East Road 2 (road).
e
The East Road 3 (road).
e
The East Road 4 (road).
e
Now, now, don't be hasty!
sprint e
The Very Easty Road (road).

^All of that would happen in a relatively short amount of time of course.

I would cheerfully garrot an infant if it would ensure me a bashing skill superior to cosmicfire; preferably one that worked on balance rather than equilibrium, to prevent abuse of quickening. (Even more preferably one that involved a tangible weapon with a magical attack, ala a staff: scythes, anyone?)

Hey Jack. How are you?

If you had 9000 health before, perhaps it isn't that big a deal.

If you had considerably less... then yes, it is.

As a Shadowlord Faeling with surge:

- you have considerably more health than most people because at least one third of your otherwise useless mana can be converted to health

- you have regeneration in a forest that by FAR covers surge (Malicia tells me perfect alone covers the drain or close to it)

- you have -level 2- sip bonus

- you tumble at the speed of near-instant

==========================

What exactly do you expect? You should never have to worry about damage? If anything, I think this change to surge was an -upgrade- to damage warriors because other warriors are no longer as tanky. With in game buffs, Diamante used to be able to break 11k health as a human. Now that he is at like 9k... isn't what I would call "excessively" downgraded. For a race that has pretty much only advantages except low con, you are making a big fuss of this.

Hey Jack. How are you?

Thus far I've been accused of being Torak, Jack, and Nymerya. Could you go one week without accusing me of being an alt?

Isn't it ironic that the first demigod bashed her way up from level 1 to 100 using cosmic fire?
Torak2006-04-26 22:30:31
Isn't it amusing astral creatures weren't as strong back then, or that whatsherface(I forget her name) said herself most the levels were bashed with Stagar? Everyone knows cosmicfire is the worse bashing skill in the game Narsrim and far too weak for the average creatures. At 19 intel it took me 9 cosmicfires to kill a bull.
Ashteru2006-04-26 22:34:04
You can't really use Aesyra as example anymore. First, Astral was far easier, second, EXP got nerfed after she get Titan and then again after she got Demigod.
Athana2006-04-26 22:45:46
Hmm...those are some interesting changes. I'm really curious to see what they have in mind for warriors now.

PS. I really like that sprint takes balance, it was too easy to run past guards before smile.gif

Actually, I was hunting with Kharvik when he was a Nihilist and it seems that two cosmicfires are about equal to one of my staffs but with quickening the time in which we killed the bull was practically the same. I still don't think they should have to use up 3 power every whatever seconds to hunt efficiently though.

Removing the mana drain was not in the envoy breakdown that Estarra saw and approved and I coded from... so either you didn't include that in your report, or our sorter wrote it out wrong.

Pretty sure I included, even went so far as to message speficially regarding it to the furies, but such is life, hopefully you folks can be all friendly and change it, though I won't bitch to much either way, that would be far too transmigrationhaving-like

I don't think there should be. Why should guardians be able to pull the damage that mages do with 3x the afflicting power on top of that? If you want to be able to do damage, change class.
Daevos2006-04-26 23:43:34
I actually like most of the warrior changes, except for the behead on hack down only. I'm willing to wait and see what else is done on warriors at this time though. But at this point, I think we still need some work done in the basics such as in the accuracy of the slashes, fixing of the combat styles, as well as new wounds that would allow us to have a more diverse offense.
Torak2006-04-26 23:47:50
We aren't asking for a staff Acrune, we are asking for something to help us bash better. I could care less what it does for damage to people as long as its better then cosmicfire for bashing.

Still, different classes have different strengths. Hunting is obviously not meant to be a strength of guardians over other classes, otherwise I'm sure something as basic as a greater damage attack would have been included already.
Torak2006-04-27 00:00:19
Every class but Guardians have good bashing, I don't see why you are opposing this other then it is a guild that you aren't in hopefully getting it. I invite you to bash as a guardian for a while and see.
Daevos2006-04-27 00:02:24
Also it's important to note that the behead change took away the only significant advantage the two handers sets had over the one handers. Our slightly increased wounding output just does not make up for the half affliction rate with both wounds and venoms.

The simple solution would be to increase cosmic fire to be "better" than it is, but it should not be as good as staff for bashing.

Hrm...?
Xavius2006-04-27 00:17:49
I honestly don't find Blacktalon hunting much better than Celestine hunting. Sure, I kill things in fewer shots, but I also take more damage from what I hunt. A small upgrade would help balance it, but nothing much. Guardian buffs level things back out.
