I'm really close... I'm right next door in California.

And can you help me by petitioning your congressinal representivie to start building a bridge between our two states so I can visit you more often?

Heh, better make it flexible to account for continental drift and plate techtonics. Wouldn't want it to suddenly snab one day from all the tension .

Ooh, my family just got a timeshare in August for Maui, so we live there, sorta, 1/52 of a year!

Acordding to Google, it takes 1 day and 22 hours to drive from NY to CA. (roughtly the same distance from CA to Hawaii.) Midway-to-Midway-to-Midway Islands Resort would only be about 1 day away from hawwaii, assuming your not talking about Midway Island, which is West of Hawaii, and not on the path between CA and Hawaii.

edit: hmmm, does that mean that California is the center of the U.S?

Well naturally, the traffic would be horrible and the hotels would want you to stay as long as possible so they may exaggerate.

And I did mean the actual Midway Islands. They're not too far from Hawaii though.

Hmm, good idea then... a bridge to go from Japan to California with a few short detours along the way, like "The furthest point east on the globe" and "Midway Island" would be wonderfull for Gas companies everywhere!
