Just wondering if there was anything against allowing a manse owner to remove mage/druid taint/water/forest from a manse?

It's just that some people don't like their manse having these terrains, it doesn't suit how they want their manse to look or it doesn't fit with their idea for the manse (a neutral place but it's filled with ethereal forest or is similar to the mountains in that every other room might have a different mage/druid terrain)

My suggestion (here's hoping it hasn't come up before, I did a search and everything) is to add an ability to the list of manse powers that the owners have access to. To make it fair and not hurt the system it would probably have to work like forcing a meld, just incase someone was rude enough to actually meld someone elses manse without permission, but it would simply remove the terrain.

It would probably produce something along the lines of

"You look around the room, shaking your head you think this place shouldn't be (tainted/flood/forested). The room is filled with a slight shimmer as the (taint/flood/forest) dissolves into nothingness."

or something.

I know of atleast one manse owner who would be using this, and it would just be allowing a manse owner to get rid of a very slight advantage they may not want people to have in their home and may help deter people from just casting terrain because they don't like the current one or think that some druid/mage came in and started randomly casting it.

random babblings

I like this idea. smile.gif spoton.gif

I want.

I am -sick- of having 10+ rooms in Deepnight tainted, that's just idiocy or maliciousness. If I find the fool who did it, I'm going to kill him. I've had to resort to someone putting forests over it, and though I don't want anything at all, ethereal forests look so much better than that nasty red color of taint.

This would be similar to the ability to remove furniture from a manse.

Heck, here's the things that should go with it:

You look around the room, shaking your head at the disarry the (flood/taint/forest) has caused you casually wave your hand over it, and quite suddenly, the area is filled with a slight shimmer as the (flood/taint/forest) dissolves into nothingness.

Looking about the area, you sigh and stomp (within a large puddle/on a pile of tainted earth/on the root of an ethereal|gloomy tree). A rumble can be heard, and the aether in the area seems to come alive for a moment, covering parts of the (flood/taint/forest). When all is silent, all traces of the demesne magic have been purged.

Raising your hands to the sky, you whisper arcane words and reach out to the aether with your mind. A black tendril shoots out, purging the (flood/taint/forest), first one, then two, then a hundred at once. When all traces of the (flood/taint/forest) have gone, the tendrils fade away, and all is silent.

It could be set on random, so it would do a different one every time. biggrin.gif

Or you could have individual ones:

You bow your head and reach into the aether. Your hand dissappears for a moment, and when withdrawn, you clutch a writhing ball of black aether energy. With a shout, you plunge it downwards into the tainted soil, and after a blinding flash, all traces of the taint seem to have been oblitterated from the area.

Bowing your head, you raise one hand into the air. Opening your palm, you force it downwards with all of your might, and the flood is pushed back with a loud *slap*. The wave suddenly and inexplicably slows down, then stops, and turns cloudy, having frozen over. As suddenly as it had begun, the wave shatters, the shards fading away into nothingness.

oh oh, people like it... this idea is now doomed to fade into oblivion and get no attention. *sniffle*

No, anything that has me adding in an idea is doomed. Sorry.

Havnt mages and druids already asked for a skill that removes taint/forest etc from a room without tainting or foresting?

For herbs mainly but it could be used in this case as well?

No.

Also it would probably have to cost power to be fair, so most people would just get a forest or appropriate terrain in certain cases

I think Elryn suggested a skill to remove demesne terrain a long time ago. Can't be bothered to search for it though.

Isn't a manse the owner's little bubble of reality?

I think they should have more control over it then.

Exactly, We can change bacically everything about the manse but if someone comes along and raises their terrain that room will have a terrain untill the room is destroyed regardless of the manse owners wishes
