So, I'm still stuck on windows and I have been using Zmud for a while now, I like it alot, but it is a bit challanging to use (converting all my stuff from TCL in MMUCL to Zmud was...just evil incarnate!! >_<).
short and sweet.
Is Zmud worth the 20$? Is it really as hard to use/learn as it looks?

EDIT: We can't buy credits through Paypal...can we?

Yes its worth the cash. Though if you wait a couple of weeks, CMUD should be out and if you have a WinXP computer it is going to SERIOUSLY kick ass.

It's pretty easy to learn to use, and it can be installed on a variety of systems. If you're that hard up to learn to code, Thorgal has a great tutorial on it, or you could ask him personally on AIM for help. It's fast and powerful, and very versatile - mushclient is a bit faster, but a lot more complicated and you don't notice it on a decent computer.

You get cmud when it comes out if you order zmud now so you don't have to wait!
That being said, talk to me on msn and I'll help you migrate *cackle*

zmud could be made as fast as mushclient if you tweak it a little, and cmud will use real database support so it is hopefully going to be faster then mushclient.

I think you guys overestimate cmud. It's going to be an early beta without many planned features for quite a long time I believe.

answer to fist question... YES....
What cmud? who's making it? where do I find out about it?

Zugg is making CMUD, which is named after his wife. It is on the ZuggSoft forums I read last night, it -sounds- awesome. but I still miss MMUCL (kinda wish I could figure out TF...).
The only thing I know about Zmud, is it lags like sin on my comp during a big group fight, atleast, with the system I am using now. Well, time for class! Be back during work!

That is partly due to your computer I am guessing and partly due to the way your scripting is coded.
Simimi2006-04-24 17:42:33
Yea, I just grabbed bits and pieces of stuff off the net and whatnot, so it is pretty bad. But at 500mhz, TF and MMUCL never lagged, Mushclient never did using Ethelon's (that I can recall) and Zmud does, occasionally.

Why is Zmud so "Great" is there nothing else out there that is equal in "usefullness" or "Power"? I am still not sure what makes something good for Lusternia, but with MMUCL it did not have timers, which really sucked.

I like Zmud because I find it pretty easy to use, its all pretty intuitive once you get the general idea of things, and you don't even really have to be code savy if you can think out ways to get things done in your head using simple methods.
Also, my old computer would lag like crazy when I had IRC open while fighting. If you're not on IRC, do you still lag lots?
Simimi2006-04-24 19:39:29
Touche'
I am indeed on IRC anytime I am on Lusty...si, that fixes it, except for huge group battles, which still lag like sin. But, I'll work on that soon enough!

I would defiently go for Zmud , ive had several free clients, and the zmud was hard to get used to at first but I ended up liking it in the end.
