@Yuskofa: She is a regal aslaran and is petite for her race, cutting an even three feet in height. Her slim form is wreathed in a coat of inky fur, so black that it absorbs what light hits it. Centred within her feminine countenance, large eyes of swirling marigold whorls pierce her surroundings with a focused gaze. The gentle slope of her muzzle ends in a soft pink nose framed with a lustrous halo of whiskers. Upon her head, large ears perk and swivel at the slightest sounds. Behind her hangs a sinuous tail that curls up just above the ground. A ribbon of blue silk is snugly tied around her neck in a bow.

You are a genious. love.gif
Now I comission art from you.

I think mine's all right? Though I realize now I forgot skin color. And the mention of clothing at all, however vague, is iffy...

He is an ordinary human and awkwardly tall. It is not that his height is very remarkable, just a few shakes above six feet, but that the rest of him never quite settled. His limbs are long and gangling, with oft-in-the-way elbows and prominent wrists, made all the more obvious in that his clothes never seem to fit just right, always baring an inch of ankle and wrist. Lank in build, he maintains a telltale, slanting slouch, that fails to disguise how ill his skeleton appears to fit his skin. His cloud gray eyes are already well-lined (Laughter? Squinting?) in his angular face, above a decisively crooked and rather too long nose, over which splashes liberal amounts of freckles. The orange-ginger stubble unfailingly circling his sloping mouth well matches his tufts of hair, which while mostly short, look like to go in any which direction, to bear the tactile appeal of straw, and to be a perpetual victim of raking fingers.

Thing like 'It is not that his height is very remarkable, just a few shakes above six feet, but that the rest of him never quite settled. ', 'with oft-in-the-way elbows and prominent wrists, made all the more obvious in that his clothes never seem to fit just right, always baring an inch of ankle and wrist. ' and others, make it seem awkward in a way, like you're talking... And tends to draw away focus from you describing your appearance to your actions...

You shouldn't put your character's mannerisms and such in your description, it would be strange to be frozen in that position. Plus it's funner to RP those strange mannerisms and make people recognize them as something unique about you! content.gif I can try to make a description for you in that order, just give me an outline of things you want mentioned... i.e. hair, eye, skin colour, height, build... bladdity

Saw this recently, made me laugh.

QUOTE
She is a stout undead brewmistress dwarf and squat as most dwarves are. Almost
disgustingly rotund, this scowling dwarf is somewhat barrel-shaped. Painted garishly all
over her body in red and black paint are entwined serpents, covering every
visible inch of skin, and her eyes are surrounded with large circles of kohl
showing off her yellowed, bloodshot pupils. Her hair is perfectly coifed atop
her head, giving her a height of almost two metres from toe to top. The stench
of cheap whisky wafts from her, taking your breath away as you gag slightly. She
is wearing a green leather backpack, a wickedly-laced black and crimson jester's
collar, a silver tentacle ring, a twilight bracelet of the lich kings, an
exquisite bracelet of silver bells, a hideous orange-banded blue velvet top hat,
garish thigh-high harlequin patterned socks, tortuous robes of the harlequin,
and a gold and silver diamond engagement ring.

Before I finish this character, I was wondering if it'd be considered acceptable. I'm actually looking forward to being treated like a slave or a lesser creature due to her appearance alone, but all that's moot if you can't be socially accepted OOC because your character sucks.

She is a fiendish viscanti and is a somber testament to the twisted power of the
Taint. Perhaps dracnari or elfen at one point, Meresankh bears features of both
races, but resembles neither, warped by the evil as she is. Completely devoid of
colour, her white skin stretches over her wiry musculature, making her look
gaunt, but not emaciated. Her roughly humanoid body is almost always slightly
hunched over, marked by reptilian features, but also possesses smooth, womanly
curves and an ample bust in a mocking of her former self. A slender, whiplike
tail stretches out of her back, almost as if it were an extension of her ridged
spine. Short, stubby spikes cover the end of the tail, giving it use as a
makeshift weapon if necessary. Shrivelled, leathery wings, full of holes,
flutter uselessly on her back, barely a fraction of the size they must have once
been. Long, pointed ears set upon a reptilian snout make up her face,
yellow-irised eyes fervently scouring the area around her. Oily, matted black
hair falls to the bottom of her jaw, cut roughly with some sort of bladed
instrument. Her feet are powerful and reptilian in nature, forming into three
large claws with blackened talons. Her hands are similar, only two large fingers
and a thumb, topped with the same talons, are left of what could have been
dainty, delicate digits. Long spines arch out of her shoulderblades and back,
tipped in wicked points. Though she physically resembles a lesser, more feral
Viscanti, the intelligent gleam in her eyes and her blinding loyalty to the
Taint proves her sentience and dedication.

That's pretty damned decent.

So if I joined Magnagora I probably wouldn't get ridiculed for looking nothing like typical Viscanti?

QUOTE
He is a sinuous illithoid and stands with a cautious air, acutely aware and surveying his surroundings with a guarded eye. He walks with a lumbering, disjointed gait, his gaunt, slightly emaciated form contrasting sharply with the ravenous gleam that governs his visage. A violent silver scar lances diagonally across his cheek to his brow, the marred flesh furrowing the tissue across one abysmal crimson eye, the other, a revolting, void eye socket, the flesh framing the nefarious, shadow inhabited cavity mutilated and flaccid. His body is encased in a dark ebon pelt of bristly, coarse fur, whorls of snowy white and slate grey marking intricate patterns in the fur in a faint imitation of myriad runic characters. A multitude of old, grizzled scars crisscross his form marking him as no stranger to confrontation. A painful, malignant brand has scorched away the fur and silvered the bordering flesh on his left shoulder, the skin reddened angrily, blazing with sinful radiance, the shape suggestive of a leering mask.

I'm still wearing my old aslaran appearance as an illithoid, so I'm sure you will be fine.

Maybe you're just a really furry illithoid?

Typical Viscanti are a myth. People don't actually bother making their viscanti pink/red. People basically go "High class wealthy master race" -> "Sounds German" -> "Blond hair, blue eyed, white skinned viscanti!" You're probabley not going to face much prejudice at all, as Meresankh looks like a high ranking Nihilist with the scales, wings and spikes poking out from under the robes. You might get some guff from the ultra-elite noble wannabee crowd, but you're going to get that from them regardless unless you're wearing a corset and a wig while acting snooty towards members of other houses.

If your aim is to get treated like a serf in Magnagora, you are going about it the wrong way. Very few people care what you look like, as the city is full of people with day-glow pink skin, armour with spikes and robes made out of raw meat. You aren't going to stick out much at all. What will get you mistreated by the upper class is being Merian/Elfen or being a beggar and walking around in dirty clothes panhandling. Being Merian or Elfen will get you told to reincarnate, unless you can't actually reincarnate and if you reincarnated into an Elfen/Merian you'll be treated like a pariah and called stupid instead of getting treated like a serf who should be toiling somewhere. So your best bet is to go around panhandling and coughing on people.

Isn't telling somebody to reincarnate kind of...not allowed?
Unknown2009-06-27 01:23:14
I don't think it's banned. If it is, I imagine someone would have said something by now or at least put a notice somewhere that says not to.

I didn't -aim- for that. I just expected it, I guess I was wrong though.

And you're right. A lot of the Viscanti I see are more "vampire style" than what a lot of NPCs are. I rarely see a player Viscanti with reddish skin or any other skin colour than a shade of white or black.

And until I can actually find some robes to buy, Meresankh's walking around in a bloodstained gown with spikes and barbs that dig into her skin and all that crap. It's the closest thing I could find to something that didn't suck. No offense, Lyla. harhar1.gif

Pretty sure it isn't, I remember having to tell alot of novices as Illithoid to reincarnate or leave.

Ack, thanks, Niccolo. I've a terrible problem with my inability to grasp word economy. And I had more meant to imply the look of those things, i.e. raked hair and awkward elbows and such, without actually including actions. I wouldn't want to trouble you, though. Hopefully I can fix it up proper.

Character concept:

She is a menacing orclach and is a tall and powerful woman. She stands seven feet tall, with smooth skin of a medium green tone. Powerful, defined musculature covers her body, but does not deform her curvature, and her chest is quite a bit bigger than average. Black hair is formed into several dozen dreadlocks that fall down around her head and to her shoulders, framing her flat face, with upturned nose and short tusks growing upwards from her lower jaw. Her amber-hued eyes show determination and courage, and although she may not be the smartest being in the Basin, she is definitely an intelligent warrior.

Is it too "orcish" or would it be suitable for an Orclach? From my understanding, Orcs are "devolved" Orclach but I'm wondering if this description presented would be suitable for an Orclach even though I based it heavily off fantasy orcs.

How can we tell this just from determined looking eyes.
