How can a trill be obsidian? I hope you mean the colour of the feathers. But then again, any trill can have black wings, except for the ones who don't want to look like whiny emo kids ripping off The Crow.
I meant Lucidians

Because Trill are analogous to birds and thus, the colouring, shape and form of the wings are analogous to some bird or other. Thus, white-feathered trills can be seagull trills, hawk trills, owl trills, and so on .Black-winged trills are crow or raven trills, and crows/ravens are emo. Goth, at best, if you try hard.
Black, however, doesn't have to be emo.
Unknown2006-06-21 05:58:38
Trills don't have to only be Crow/Raven trills, there are MORE than juse 2 birds with black coloring. Thank you very little.

Stop it. The Corvus family is THE smartest families of birds ever. They are so cool and it's sad they represent it with death and sad stuff, because they are in fact tricksters and wise birdies
Unknown2006-06-21 06:37:48
In some places the Corvus is consider a wise bird of prophet and that sort. Good things come from the Raven!!

In some Indian culture in Alaska-N. Canada there is a legend that it was the Raven that brought the Sun, the moon and the stars unto the world

Emos do not slit their wrists. I don't know why they get mixed up with goths so often. They aren't quite as black oriented, either.
Get your stereotypes straight, people.

Exactly.
The best way to discover the cultural identity of an individual is to rob them. If they curl up in a ball, they're an emo; if they slit their wrists and aim them at you (trying to drown you in the flood of gore), they're a goth.

Ok, a lesson.
Goth is a style inspired by early 70's punk bands. They do not cut themselves. They were defined by black, band T's, and an appreciation for darker aspects of music.
Edit: Some of the bands being the Bauhaus, The Cure, Joy Division, and Siouxsie & the Banshees.
Gothic is a style that romanticizes death. Again, cutting is a minority, and fits in with the attraction to death/life, not "pity me!". Clothing style usually consists of black, red, and white, usually in an elegent fashion (so, flowing skirts, corsets, slacks, dress shirts, that sort of thing)
Then you have Neo-Goth. They are the ones who have every orifice pierced and every bit of exposed skin tattooed. They're the "Its black or nothing!" sort who run around in collars and spikes and hate everyone, including themselves.
And Emo, I have no idea where they black got associated with it, since Emo comes from the term Emotional Rock/Punk, such as Death Cab For Cutie or Dashboard Confessionals. Neither of which have anything to do with black, but rather a "thrift store" style.
People have totally confused Emo with Neo-Goth, and I generally just chuckle with people like Verithrax try to lord themselves over people by classifying them as something, and being completely incorrect.

Actually, Fallen forgot the 'neo-emos', who combine the whiniest, corniest, most self-pitying and fashion-backward aspects of punk, neo-goth, and emo. That's what most people mean when they say 'emo'.
Verithrax2006-06-22 02:08:52
That's what I mean. The idiots who listen to Evanescence, et al. Actually all bands cited by Fallen still suck, anyway, and if I liked them I'd slit my wrists too.

And what exactly do you listen to? I'm very interested to hear.

Prog rock.

Your virtual masturbation was amusing for a while, but your pathetic grasping has actually started to bore me.

That last statement wasn't a troll (How can it be construed as a troll?) I really do like prog rock.
If you meant the statement before that, well...
Anyway, sorry for the offtopic.

Its not my fault that I can't tell Emo from Goth because LAS VEGAS CONFUSES EVERYTHING! *mutter* Stupid Vegas.
Unknown2006-06-24 01:14:38
Believe me, I was a huge prog nerd for years and while there are several amazing bands, as any genre most of it is pretty shit. Though at least I have like 600 or so fairly obscure cds now.. yay I guess.
