Where did you get your character(s) name from?
My dear Orti comes from my second last name, Ortiz, which is a spanish last name(more Basque) and is quite known here in Mexico. There is this other character that I have, he's name comes from My second name on its italian form.
What about your name?

Shorlen2006-04-26 10:09:22
This character's proper name is Shaiel, meaning grey, but it was taken at the time I made him. Shaiel is the name I generally give to a character of ambiguous gender who just tries help those in need. The kind and compassionate one who is perfectly willing to kill for the sake of kindness and compassion. Often the paladin-type, which Shorlen was for a long time.
Shorlen was the name of a character of mine in a one-shot I had run the week before, the high mage of knowledge who, with the best of intentions, nearly destroyed all of humanity. The naieve one who knew too much. That is who Shorlen would have become if I had kept playing Lusternia, ironically, as he fell deeper and deeper into Glomdoring's lies.

Yrael, from Ian Irvine's "Well of Echoes" quartet. Not sure which book, but I *think* it's the third. Maybe the fourth.
Valarien2006-04-26 10:46:39
Valarien?
Well, it's rather tough to say -where- I got the name from... Probably a cheesy vampire novel or something. It's been a name I've been fond of for my darker characters for quite a while now, though I've been known to use Valarios upon occasion.
Kagetsai, though, it obviously of more oriental origin, and was the name of my pet falcon during my brief stint as an Infernal in Aetolia... until he got killed because I d/ced and couldn't get back online. He was a good falcon, too.

Penelope2006-04-26 12:02:15
I actually came up with the name Penelope after I'd already come up with the last name of Pendalopolous. I wanted to make a tongue twister of a name. So...Penelope Pendalopolous is what it ended up. Then eventually Gwynevere and Marina started calling me PenPen and that has spread across the game. Don't call her Penny...she'll yell at you.
Ashteru2006-04-26 12:33:29
Ashteru comes from something the orc grunts say in Warcarft 3...

"Buy the full version or I will sing?"
"Quit poking me?"
"Ooh. That was kind of nice?"

Something like Ashteru D'annador or something...it's one of the normal ones.
Everiine2006-04-26 13:10:42
Everiine Faalon was a character I'd made for a D&D campaign, though I have no idea where I got it. Just kinda sat there and made up words until I found one I liked. When I started Lusternia, I didn't want to use Telinome, the name I use for most of my online identities, so I went back and stole Everiine's name.

A Pretty White Flower that grows in Thailand.

Also: I noticed if you google "Simimi" under images, you get my Lusternia Hot or Not photo, and, our hot or not boards are back up.

Warcraft II, king of the Human Alliance or something I think. I always liked the name.

Night Elves all the way.
Oh, and my name comes from the animated movie "The Road to El Dorado". Tzekel Kahn was the evil, blood-thirsty priest. (as opposed to Tzekelkan the goodie priest in Lusternia) He eventually got enslaved by Cortez, so boo to him!
Yeah, silly, I know. It just sounded so cool a loooong time ago I couldn't part with it.

Night elves are for fanbois. Dwarves all the way.
Cuber is a strongly transmuted version of my RL name. I was surprised when I've found out it's quite a popular word. Maybe even an actual name.
Arix2006-04-26 17:21:45
Arix is sort of a universal RPG-type name that I have claimed as my own, and haved used for many a character

Night elves step on dwarves and eat orcs for breakfast, while enslaving the humans. The undead are icky and the blood elves are too temperamental.
And yes, Tzekelkan is a name I too have used for my RPing purposes across my existence. Either that or Terak Dy'ner, which is something I totally made up.
Daganev2006-04-26 17:56:28
Daganev was the name of my first MUD char back in 1992.
Its a breakup of two sounds.. Da and Ganev. Ganev means thief in hebrew, and Da means The in funny sounding english.

Hazar2006-04-26 18:25:29
Veyda came from throwing together Russian-sounding syllables until something sounded good, and Hazar came from Knights of the Old Republic. Neither has any great heritage to it.
