Shyshaeia2006-04-27 20:06:07
Shyshaeia is just something I made up in my head years ago by trying different sounds and letter combinations out...Ive been using ever since as my main internet/game alias.

Sion is just a really cool sounding word I picked.

Kasia is the Polish form of Katherine, as Ekard noted to me already.
I chose it because it I like the way it sounds, and it seems to flow well in a fantasy based game. Also, I'm half-Polish.

Just found out today in Latin class that "vix" translates to "scarcely." Of course, it's pronounced "wix" but whatever.
Whiiiiiiiiii.

Tekora2006-05-05 15:23:38
Tekora comes from an obscure shareware game, Exile 3. It's the name of a minor NPC. I liked the name though, and have since used it for many things, including DnD campaigns, online games, and my own literature.

Aaisu.... My brain works as a random fantasy name generator, give me a gender and race and I will pop out a name. For some reason though I can never come up with names for a modern setting...
Unknown2006-05-06 17:20:28
Peony comes from a novel I recently read called Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. It's about 19th century China, footbinding, and such. Peony was the name of a character. It was such a simple, yet such a beautiful name.... I guess that's what inspired me to use this name!

Ooh! I know! Wolf Brother! Or maybe Spirit Eater!

No. I AM NOT NAMED AFTER SOME GIGANTIC MAGIC SILVER KITTY OF PUREST FISHY DESIRE. I DID NOT READ THAT SERIES UNTIL QUITE A BIT OF TIME LATER.
*pant* Yrael in THOSE series is a fairly minor Aachim, mentioned once or twice. (long lived, incredibly arrogant species, with a tendancy to screw themselves over and whinge for centuries on end. Elves on heroin, basically. Plus they have really long fingers and a vestigal tail. Even though all I used is the name. The arrogance is native to me.
WHAT? Did you even read the books?!
Yrael, more commonly called Mogget, is the companion of the Abhorsens, and is really the 8th of the 9 great powers that created the world! He has been bound for millenia, and usually takes the form of a talking, sarcastic white cat. He can also, if his master allows him, turn into an albino dwarf. He wears a red leather collar with a magical, binding bell on it.
There. End.
My name comes from Lux, latin for light, and Ytrae... well, if that had a real origin, which I don't think it did, I have forgotten it.

I thought he got it from the German noun meaning judge or something to that extent...
At least that's what I think he said in another post, but I'm not sure and don't care to find it.

Um...wow...obsess much?
I need to reread abhorsen, because I don't remember him turning into a dwarf...(unless there's some other book he wrote I don't know about, and if so, please tell me. PLEASE)
@shiri- that's a badger? I can see it when I really look at it, but I always thought it was a whale or something like that...
