I'm writing a book on Father Sun, but there is so little info on him IC and OOC. Could you post ALL tidbits of information or/and observations about him....please?
Lisaera2006-05-02 18:39:02
I understand that you may feel it's difficult to get information IC, but if you are going to write a book about a subject, all your research MUST be IC. It is your character writing the book, after all, not you.
You'll just have to try to keep finding information in the game.

And if you haven't yet, try speaking to Derian. There is a little information on the subject, it's just *very* scattered, and if you don't know where to look...
Unknown2006-05-02 19:30:22
Out of curiosity, are there any other books on Father sun already?
Unknown2006-05-03 02:00:59
You know you can make things up for yourself, right? The admin might not agree, but since when has all the information in the world been 100% accurate? Heck, people have written many hundreds of Biblical style texts claiming to be recording the Word of God or communicating through a trance state with the Godhead, or however you wish to interpret it, but I'm willing to bet not everything written is correct .
Assuming I believe in that stuff at all...
Anyway, point is, take what you know and can find out and then just go from there.

Just remember, Father sun is the reason why Guadi is in the desert, and is always trying to Destroy the basin by chasing Mother Moon so that she gets directly between him and the basin.

... eh?
You do know that Father Sun is chasing after Mother Night, right?
Daganev2006-05-03 02:57:55
Yes.. Think solar eclipse. Sun wants you to think that Moon is trying to block out the Sky and thus destroy the basin, but really its Sun being all sneaky.
Shiri2006-05-03 03:36:52
What do eclipses have to do with destroying anything?
Daganev2006-05-03 03:41:08
Go watch or read A connecticutt yankee in king arthurs court
Saran2006-05-03 04:49:02

Is any of that true?
Aiakon2006-05-03 20:12:19
does it matter really? Invent stuff, if it's too bad, then it gives someone else an excuse to write a response.. which is always good.
Unknown2006-05-03 20:18:34
I had already written a whole story out of invention...

I really hope you spoke with Derian.
Daganev2006-05-03 20:42:07
Oh, also... The Skarch desert use to be a forest untill Father Sun sent his wrath against it.
Without Skarch, The ethereal plane was unabalanced, and Father Sun kicked out, and sent to the plane of fire.

Derian shot all my theories to pieces
I don't think I'll write a book on him anymore.

There's really nothing wrong with writing fables of the Great Spirits any way you want. That is the nature of fables!
The only player writings that rise to the level of official history are those won in the library contest.
Regarding Father Sun, I will only say that he is probably the most misunderstood of the Great Spirits, and I will make a guess that no mortal player you talk to has any real knowledge that you should count on. (Don't ask me for more information because I won't tell.)
Bottom line: Don't get discouraged and write what you want! That said, it will be best received as a fable.
Good luck and keep writing!
