Pah, how am I supposed to know things about other countries?
Shiri2006-05-06 01:19:24
Wait, you guys don't have bonfire night over there? Huh. Makes sense, I suppose. But what excuses do you use for letting off fireworks? You DO have fireworks, right?!
Acrune2006-05-06 01:30:36
Fourth of July is fireworks day.
Unknown2006-05-06 01:51:59
Woot! I suck... please do a Mexican related quiz
Unknown2006-05-06 01:56:27
Oops, Sorry Shiri. Yeah, I meant Monty Python. Its been a while since I've watched Meaning of Life, Life of Brian, or Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Sarrasri2006-05-06 02:34:17
Fireworks in Canada are on July 1st and on the New Year.
Lots of people also use them during birthdays and parties though too.

What's the point of lighting fireworks in NOVEMBER? You'll be all chilly and have to be wrapped up in jackets to watch them! In July you can just lie out and stare as they go kaboom.
Sarrasri2006-05-06 02:41:27
Who said anything about November???
And fireworks aren't just fun to watch, they're fun to light as well.

Bonfire night (when you light fireworks) is in November.
Remember remember
The 5th of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot
We see no reason
Why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!
(Although mostly they only teach kids the first three lines these days for some reason.)

It's not just fireworks, you build a giant bonfire and put a man on it! Then set off fireworks!
We have the 12th of july here and bonfire night in november. I do quite like bonfires though.

I wonder who'll top me, this time
Thirty-eight seconds!

Yeah; as I said, I only knew the Guy Fawkes question because of that rhyme, and I only knew that rhyme because of V for Vendetta (great movie, by the way).

That was the easiest difficult trivia I've seen for a while. Not sure how you managed 38 seconds though O_o

They based a holiday off a movie?

...you're kidding, right?!
EDIT: I should note that I may have to smack you if you're not
Soll2006-05-06 15:48:21
Woah, seriously. You think that, Shou?
Please, please say not. Or, atleast, please pretend you think otherwise and google it.

Even I know what Guy Fawke's day is. He's the guy who wanted to blow up the parliment, ain't he? (EDIT: at about 17th century, if my memory isn't failing)
Two questions I got wrong were about some obscure American holiday and childbirthing. How the hell am I supposed to know that, being Polish and male?

I think V for Vendetta is based off of Guy Fawke's holiday, but its more than just that. You need to watch the movie for the really indepth feeling it gives about goverments in General. They just used the british because...the brits need a movie bashing their goverment. The beginning of the movie starts of with that rhyme and showing him trying to blow parliment up.
Shou, I believe that the holiday came before the movie...*nod*
And! We shot fireworks when there was snow on the ground in germany. I think it was for...4 of July or Independence Day or a day where you shoot fireworks...anyway.

In my country we shoot fireworks only on New Year's Eve. Shame.
Unknown2006-05-06 17:13:54
Ohh I see, that makes more sense.
P.S. Of course I was kidding, silly kids xP
