That means you need to get a newer version of Java. You mentioned before that the XPI install didn't work for you, so you could consider trying the offline install.
Montegil2006-11-24 20:15:57
Arundor,
You have been very patient and helpful. Thanks ever so much. I finally got it working by downloading the offline version of Java.
Once again, you have my thanks!

Oh, and btw. Take a look at when you glance while your using the compass. It will show the exits for the room you are glancing into. Not sure if it was intended but its kind of interesting.

It's already mentioned in the first post.
Not intended, but I couldn't find a way to fix it.

Is this specific compass also able to work with Zmud?
Unknown2006-12-02 00:35:25
You'd have to write some sort of plugin in zMUD that can talk to the compass. Not so easily done as it is in MUSHclient, but also not necessary since zMUD has the buttons built right into it.
You can get around the glancing problems by making a 'glance' alias (and don't forget to also match 'gl') that temporarily disables the exits tracking until the next prompt.

hate to bring this back from the dead but can anyone edit this so that when you target something it shows the target?
Arundor2007-08-29 20:53:37
That's a little difficult unless I integrate a targetting alias with the compass plugin. I believe most people wouldn't like that since they prefer to customize their targetting system based on their archetype.
Unknown2007-08-31 17:07:30
well I can see what you mean there. But couldnt you also include a trigger that will see " Target tar = " and have it just hold that value until it is changed again? I would try this myself but I cannot edit java files.

Updated to work with the new SCORE format as well as with QSC.
I removed support for the other IRE games since the SCORE formats are similar enough now that they're conflicting. I don't anticipate this being an issue because I don't think anyone actually used this for other IRE games. But if this is a problem for you, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Hey everyone!
I slighty tweaked this plugin to blend in more nicely with mushclient's default black background. I thought maybe people might be interested. Great little app Arundor, love it. Here is what it looks like:
Screenpic.
The letters are kinda randomish (I pretty much just edited every image file that came with the original package) but they work. Anyhoo, here it is, if anyone wants it! (Couldn't attach it so I had to use some unknown uploading service...also note that this was modded after Arundor's last update, so the new score thing is included)
Download!

I love this thing! Thank you for making it available to us. I'm just confused by what it does for me.
The first time I installed it it worked perfectly. Then, when I left and came back later and logged in, I tried to open the compass and nothing. Loaded the plugin, tried to open the .bat file, and a command window came up like usual, displayed one line of text that I couldnt' read before it just closes again. I did the command line directory thing and it starts up perfectly when I do that. Is MUSH somehow interefering with the file starting up the normal way?

Make sure "LusterGUI.bat" is in the same location as "LusterGUI.class". If it is, then it sounds like the .bat file may be corrupted.
You could try making a new one by opening Notepad and entering this text:
Save that as "any_name.bat" and run it.
Alternately you could try downloading another copy of the zip archive and extract the LusterGUI.bat from there.
I hope that helps.

The compass is wonderful! Thank you for it so much. It was, as many people have stated, the main reason Nexus is liked so much, now MUSH can get my full love!

Hello. I really like the compass but i have made a few modifications as to where it gets the information from and i want to share them.
I have attached 3 Files to this post.
One is LusterGUI.xml changed by me.
The other 2 are needed to activate the ATCP.
Both are available from here but i changed the files in flc.zip to add the Lusternia changes to ATCP needed for the compass.
The file ATCP.xml is the same as on the site but, to make it easier for you, i added it to the post too.
To install these you have to do the following.
Extract flc.zip to\\lua
There should be a new folder called flc. This is important cause MUSHClient won't find the files if they are not in lua\\flc
Add both xml files as plugins. Remove the old LusterGUI.xml if present first (I have not checked if that interferes but just to be sure).
If all works correctly the compass will show all stats and directions correctly and without typing score. Also using glance won't interfere with the compass.
As a plus the compass will now work with at least Achaea and Aetolia too. The Ego bar will, of course, be allways 0/0 there.
If it doesn't work you may have to do the following:
Open the "File" menu and choose "Global Preferences" (Or CTRL+ALT+G)
Select the tab "Lua"
Put:
package.path = GetInfo (66) .. "lua\\\\?.lua"
somewhere at the top in the shown edit box and click ok
Please note that i am using version 4.2 of MushClient and that the files may not work with older versions.
And a tip, but i think you already know that:
In MUSHClient you can use the keypad to navigate. Its faster than clikcing the direction in nexus. There are no keys for "in" and "out" though but i can live with that.

It works with version 4.14 too! Thanks, that's even more brilliant!

FLC was written with Achaea in mind, but I'm sure you can adapt it easily to work with Lusternia. I had written my own ATCP plugin based on Keldar's code a long time ago. You don't have to live with the ego and power being incorrect.
Also, you can create your own macros for in/out/up/down fairly easily. I personally use -/+ for up/down and ins/del for in/out. Of course, I don't use MUSHclient now, but the same applies to any client.

Thats what i did: I changed flc to handle the changes made in ATCP for Lusternia. The ego stat is correct when connecting to Lusternia. Only when using the plugin with Achaea or Aetolia the ego stat is 0 cause they don't have that.

Ah. Gotcha.
Unknown2008-01-13 01:46:21
I've downloaded it (the link given in the first post), I've added it to the plugins, all of the files that came in the package are in the same place, my Java is up-to-date and I'm using 4.19 of MUSH yet it's not showing up.
Any idea?
