Well, I must say this is a pleasant surpise, when i was playing marcalo I thought gloms were all idiots and rejects from everywhere else and to pathetic to even talk about. But now that I actually have a glom, I must say they are very inviting and have gone above and beyond the expectations of making a newbie feel welcome. Good work.

It's a great place. I wouldn't be anywhere else.

I got bored there...
Ashteru2006-05-06 13:53:35
Oh yeah, that's great to know. Now go into a thread that flames Glomdoring and type that there, not in one that says Glomdoring is good.

And, to not go offtopic, Glom IS great.

I'd join Glomdoring if it wasn't the people from Serenwile (at least the non-annoyingly snuggly ones, there's a few) and if it wasn't ruining for my RP. I like being a champion too.
Hazar2006-05-06 15:04:17
Pssh...just RP a brainwashing. That always works.

And Glomdoring is awesome. End of story. Why don't you guys just take me at my word?

Thanks Marcalo. That means a lot. It's cool to hear nice things sometimes. smile.gif

I would be playing my Ksil but..I don't want to get eaten because I need to do my rituals and... unsure.gif yeah, its definetly been more than 3 months in game soo...Xavius and Yeralih are gonna eat me!! Ahhh..

Its nice to hear something about Glom that isn't saying "OMG! U SUCK! CuZ Viravain dfnds u!" Or however that would be, anyway...thank you Marcalo!

Great concept, great potential... but there's very little room for personal thoughts and ideas I found. Still, to each his/her own. Have fun!

That, in my opinion, is what makes it so fun. That is the potential and concept being fulfilled. Celest should be similiar. "Burn the heretics!" but its not. Its a failed version of Glomdoring, really.

I love the fanaticism. Its the only place where you can be truly fanatic for your cause and not get slapped for it. That makes it a fantastic place. And the only reason I don't include Magnagora in that spot as well is because it is pretty much a melting pot, and so allegiences are completely mixed up. Yes, while the leaders are fanatical, you can find more than a few Mags snuggling with Celestians in secret, and the leadership doesn't seem to have an issue. And that's actually fine--Magnagora being the place of Freedom is really cool, I think. It totally distorts the "evilness", that they are the place you go if you want to have as few restrictions as possible placed on you. You just can't be fanatic and go around slaughtering everyone who doesn't follow non-existance rules tongue.gif

There's a great deal of fun to be had being independent in Glomdoring. You just have to keep it under wraps and out of the way of your duty.
Marcalo2006-05-07 01:42:46
my sole gripe about glom is its lack of players but thats really nothing the general player base can fix. Glom just needs time to attract people now that it is getting all sorted out. I look forward to making my non pk careere there. And before anyone says anything I can't spell for beans sober, why would i be able to spell for beans when i am not?

Celest has a lot of fanaticism if you look in the right places.

Oh, I know. Its just not upheld by the leadership. Or the current Divine.

Glomdoring's RP is amazing, but only if that happens to be the exact form of RP you're looking for - the lack of leeway and room for a variety of roles irks me.

Yes, I made a Blacktalon alt, and the RP structure reminded me of the Priests in Achaea's Shallam.

"These are the 50 things you must constantly warp your mind to become and hold in your actions, not only your actions but the motivation behind those actions, not only the motivation but the specific way in which you think about the motivation behind the motivation."

I got turned off to both places when I was given full-length RP tests as a novice. (Seriously not even 20 minutes after I stepped through the portal in either place.) And the specific moments I knew they not for me were somewhere in the middle of: the true definition of the meaning behind the word 'good' for the priests; and the difference between lying to your superiors (bad), and not telling factual inaccuracies to your superiors (bad). glare.gif

Yes, I enjoy the little RP nest my various charactors are in, but I also enjoy having the freedom to keep them dynamic rather then static, and that's what both of those placed felt like, a little to restrictive for my personal tastes. They just don't fall into the happy medium that I as a person favor, might be wonderful for someone else, but not me.

I don't think Serenwilde's roleplay is particularly dynamic, but I will give you that Glomdoring's culture isn't for everyone. happy.gif
