Aye, Glomdoring RP is what makes it livable for me... I NEVER have to worry about someone hurting my immersion, even at the ravenwood it is clear to me at least that our RP is very solid, and nexii are where it seems everyone is just themselves, chatting it up... I dunno, I just love Glomdoring, and have never found it too restrictive, but it may just be that I fit into the nich. Anyway, join Glom, we have the coolest people by far now diamante too!!! /endrant

What full-length RP tests? I just love the life in the Glomdoring, and even as a Blacktalon, and I remember my reception as a novice being surprisingly warm as well, given the 'Forest of No Mercy' reputation. There is just so much Silferras can actually do for the commune.. though of course there's the 'oh no we're being raided and we can't do anything' thing now and then, but it spices life up. It's fun being the underdog, though we sure could use more people (..or maybe that's just the times I log on).
and for Glomdoring!
P.S. Mushclient rocks, but I don't really know how to do anything fancy.

Glomdoring has a rich RP, although I have to say that even though I have only just started in the Shadowbound, there isn't always a lot of people on
Daganev2006-05-16 01:20:37
I think that people who find Glomdoring RP too restrictive just arn't sneaky enough....
Unknown2006-05-16 01:29:39
If anything, Celest's RP is the most restrictive from my opinion. With all of their bashing bans and the like.

Other than the merians, no one actually cares about the bashing bans in my experience (except for obvious things like kelpies, angels, etc)

Then that's just poor Roleplay..
Well, we're going to say that you can't bash Aslaran, or monks, or this, or that, or the thing over there, but if you do it, meh, its not like we'll do anything about it.
Shiri2006-05-16 01:38:19
That's not poor roleplay. I can't imagine why you'd think it was.
Shamarah2006-05-16 01:40:17
How is that poor roleplay? It's just a rule that no one actually cares about. It isn't like those don't exist IRL.
Unknown2006-05-16 01:46:23
Its bad roleplay when the reasoning behind it is "We don't kill these things because it is an example of how we uphold the Light. These things are what we stand for, and we will not fail."
yes, you can be hypocrits, but you then lose the right to come onto an OOC board and say "Celest can't be nice to Glomdoring because they were once tainted! And it would be against our Roleplay as followers of the Light to do that!"
Or any other BS "we're the Light" excuse.
I just like how Celest will listen to the Supernals make a ruling that will keep them in Serenwilde's pocket, but they'll be damned to follow their teachings if it means anything inconvenient.
Its bad roleplay because so many people swear up and down OOCly that their characters are loyal and true to the Light.

Uh, those rules are upheld. The people who break them do it in a way that no one notices. Most people don't care about them because most people who choose Celest RP wouldn't kill those types of things anyway. The only period when Celest didn't much care about that sort of thing when was Hajamin and his followers were in charge and it was "kill anything not of the Light" for the OOC reason that it was just easier to get XP that way.
But even if they weren't, that's not "bad RP". You're lumping every Celest player/character in as one. So if one comes to the boards and says their character is moral etc. then automatically that's all Celestians who are trying to RP that. Not every player wants to RP the same thing.

Woot! I agree Glomdoring is a great place, I enjoyed it even though I didn't get very far from Shayle's sight, you handled my novice very well!
And I certainly uphold the restictions on killing certain things, anything I consider to be "sentient". And since I don't bash I pretty much help anything I find dead! And to bring that back to Glomdoring, Moralis was nice enough to help me play out a little help the poor animals thing that no one in Serenwilde would help me with.

Still loving glom, I honestly can't say enough good things about it. Only beef right now is the dang blacktalon advancement requirements! To much work for my lazy self!
Unknown2006-05-18 10:05:36
Trust me, it's easier than it looks.
Marcalo2006-05-18 16:27:26
It might be, But I'd just rather be bashing and hanging out with my guys girly friend.

I like Glomdoring allot, not evil, just orderly and nationalistic. Like Ithaqua of Imperian, except more fanatical.
I wish there was a country like Glomdoring in the world, I'd want to move there(Politically wise, not including magic and wyrd and everything like that ). I think that Singapore is the closest in the world that I've heard of like to it.

Shayle is so amazingly nice to all the novii.
Hazar2006-05-19 22:09:45
The novice-care people in Glomdoring are all nice.

Which kind of explains why most of the Singaporeans (or those who announced themselves in Meet and Greet, anyway, myself included) play a Glomdoring character.
