How does focus mind negate that affliction combo? It only cures the impatience, and it throws you off focus-balance so you can't focus body immediately either.

Runes sucks as a whole. Focus mind isn't the problem, even without focus mind it's a weak skillset.

Because asthma+anorexia= a lock without focus mind :/ So you cant cure the impatience to cure the paralysis to cure the sap?

Where is this anorexia coming from, though? There is no anorexia rune. Nor is there any anorexia demesne effect. The only thing is scarab.
ferlas2006-05-08 03:18:12
Oops my mistake thought he said anorexia,

Althought it is better with focus mind

sap, paralysis, impatience, asthma with focus mind is
focus mind
focus body
cleanse

without focus mind its
drink melancholic
smoke coltsfoot
foucs body
cleanse

an extra second or so which can be deadly in sap.
Unknown2006-05-08 04:23:47
except because of Sap, as a Faeling runist, you could keep them permantly Impatienced because of Sap, so long as you had enough runes. And what, is Focus mind 250 mana? 500 mana? Either way, how long can you keep that up against a Blacktalon who can mana drain/kill you?
ferlas2006-05-08 04:32:18
I was just saying with focus mind it is easier to get out of than without focus mind, I do agree that a well timed sap isn't to hard for either druids to stick.

Oh but I could focus mind for ages without dropping below half anyway.

Kagetsai's book especially is pretty good. 'nuff said.

Pentu is a pretty good fighter I'd say, and she can use her runes well. She never once managed to get me anywhere near dead, and she sapped me like 5 times in that last ffa. :P
Same with Borca actually, but he doesn't have a third skillset and still gets used to it.
Dealing with sap is really only bad if you are a) Hit by the perfect sap ( 1 second before paralysis and rest of demesne) or B) when you don't get the affliction line, aka dreamweaver sap and c) Well. If you spamm yourself like I once did. *cough*

It's drink melancholic (asthma), pray pipes are lit and smoke coltsfoot (strip insomnia), smoke coltsfoot (impatience, maybe another coltsfoot afflict at this point), focus body, writhe (more than enough time to get vines off by now), cleanse. It's nasty, nasty crap without focus mind.

Hmm, you can focus mind when impatient? I didnt knowed that.
Soll2006-05-08 17:18:42
Yeah. It cures the impatience.
ferlas2006-05-08 17:53:47
Its the only way to cure impatience in some cases.

Impatience is always the first affliction cured by focus mind. If I remember right, it has a different message.

What would be the geopolitical impact of the return of the Lost Cities?

Donkies would dance in the streets.

Good hair pieces would go bad, forming gangs which would roam the streets committing petty crime and seducing Persian rugs.

The sewers would back up and flood New Celest, causing much rejoicing, on account of they like floods.

Ialie would forget how to make jewelry skill so she can learn the new Macrame trade skill.

Magnagora would host a world-wide love-in, where all the peoples of the Basin would gather to sing "Kumbaya" and "Give Taint a Chance".

The aslaran of the the Gray Moors and the Merians of the Arysian Isles would form an alliance and begin invading aether manses on a daily basis in huge hordes, slaying all the inhabitants and stealing their gold, because they heard that the Portal Touched are worth good experience.

Murphy would defect to Serenwilde, because he got sick of singing "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" in a Tiny Tim falsetto without any &%*$$^$!! tulips to tiptoe through!

Estarra would declare every third Tuesday to be "International Aardvark Day".

Queen Maeve would finally get so ticked off at the fighting in Ethereal that she'd write everyone involved a stiff note.

Gorgogs would breed with the weevils of Glomdoring to create a new super-race of bad-tempered stench bugs.

The orcs of Acknor and the furrikin of Estelbar would forget all their past differences and move into a time-share condo together.

Richter would give up the lie he's been living, and return to his one true love: organizing non-pofit charity bingo nights.

Munsia would give up sex and violence because they eat too much into her time for stamp collecting.

And most importantly, the Serenwilde would chop down all the Moonharts to make room for Truffula trees. Because a thneed is a something that everyone needs.

Um.... Yea... So how'd a question on politics get turned into a combat thread?

Politics... combat... doesn't seem like such a huge gulf between them to me.
Ashteru2006-05-10 14:43:35
War is just the follow-up of politics. (If I translated that quote correctly, at least. <.<)
Hazar2006-05-11 20:38:37
I think a closer translation of Clausewitz's words is 'War is the extension of politics by other means.'
Ashteru2006-05-11 20:46:00
Pffffeeh. English. glare.gif
Hazar2006-05-11 20:48:57
It wasn't a bad translation. I just happen to have studied Clausewitz in some detail. cool.gif
