Actaully hazar the lowbies are more likely to consider glomdoring as not tainted because they havn't heard hajamin say its tainted, its the older higher up who are using the "Hajamin said it is tainted," arguement to keep the situation as it is.
Kill all older citizens and you are set. Heh.

I wonder how many citizens have been there since the founding days. I know there are still a few of the people who were here at the beginning in Serenwilde and Magnagora.

So yeah, Safe raiding is silly because then I can't ask the raiders "so what is taint anyways"
It is amazing how the argument "hajamin said its taint" falls once you ask that question.
But raiding is bad.

But raiding is bad.
Raiding itself isnt bad. Raids are those fast attack that are not longer then few minutes and dont happen to often.
Bad is long (few hours) ocupation of enemy territory. This makes players irritated, not some quick raid to kill a miner or angel.
I think that distorted village shouldnt prevents raids to occur as its right now. But it should be some kind of help for defenders. It should give defenders some benefits not harm raiders. Even better would be that benefits from distortion would rise with number of enemies on enemy territory/village.
Those powers could be from passive healing to damage reduction, or temporary Truefavours.
We, players wanted to have some relief from raids but we made them almoust impossible now. It taked away to much fun from game.
And such aura would help less powerful defenders to defend against stronger forces.
In real world it was always easier to defend then attack. A lot smaler forces could defend effective against much bigger forces.

"safe" raiding is a huge group attacking with superior numbers/tactics/weaponry when there are little or no defenders around, and those defenders are far away.
Example:
Daevos is on, he hits Stewartsville and distorts the rift, 3-4 people finally get there and he is gone via cubix, 30 minutes later he repeats, continued until something about the situation changes or gets bored, or kills everything he can.
Everyone nation has someone who does it at certain times of the day, or month or year. While their side is 'down' though they (whomever they are) have certain members who come to the forums to complain as much as possible to make everyone else feel bad afterward for trying to play a game to their advantage while they, in the limited time they have, can.
I do disslike how certain people have tryed to shift this thread onto a certain key nation though, as it certainly pertains to everyone weather the points are valid in the context they are being used or not.

My view of safe raiding was hitting when no one at all is around or when no defence can be provided, wesmins example is kind of perfect

It is so annoying that narsrim constantly raids like this in when no ones around kills something and when any defence comes flees out with the prism/cubix
It cant be fun for nearly anyone defending because all you can do is drop what your doing to run and defend in which case they run and your sitting there with no one to fight or you have to sit and guard the place constantly which isnt fun.
That kind of safe raiding is just so annoying but it happens constantly so you just have to deal with it really.

We need a new skill, like distort that does the following.
Gather the names of all the online players who are above level 70, then 60 then 50 etc, untill you gather atleast 4 names.
All enemies in the territory, randomly see these names enter and exit or stay in the room (much like insanity.)
Someone start research on Astral insanity and find a way to harness it into our nexii.
Call the affect, Illusions for cities, and Ghosts/spirits for communes.
This way raiders won't exactly know if they should run or not... could be fun!

Coming from a non-combatant, I voted for safe and effective. It is what raiding's all about. You don't play nice with it. If an area isn't protected then a "little prod" can do wonders to get protectors off their butts.
