Accidently deleted my outline and list of sources for the ten-page english paper I have not yet started, which is due tomorrow. I am ****ed, sideways and upside-down.

Yeah, so if I suddenly dissapear for six months it will be because I failed English and have been beaten into a bloody paste. No one contest me or I'll cry.

There's the Recycling Bin for deleted files, and Word usually has backups of files... hopefully that might help some.
Yrael2006-05-08 02:22:08
You remember what you can of each, then you go on to blab about the broad social conditions that pervaded at the time of the creation of each source and how the author would like to see the world, as shown by their writing. That should be able two pages, then go on about the way characters relate to the Wild (natural rhythms or lack thereof)/Murder/Oppression/Broad theme within book.

Instant History!

Yeah, unless you have your recycle bin automatically delete everything, it should be in there.

Just $29.95 and it'll be ready in 24 hours! biggrin.gif

Cleared out my bin - and that's wonderful, Yrael, but it's a persuasive essay on the effect of violent media on youth, not a book report.

Back to square one, but chugging along. Hopefully I'll have enough done to at least make a weak showing.

There's software that recovers lost files (Even if recycled). Found this on another forum.. not sure if it's the full version, but this person had a similar problem.

Edit: Regardless, kind of screwed anyway for starting a 10 page paper the night before. I'm sure you can complete it though.
Unknown2006-05-08 03:10:11
Well, since the day it was assigned I've been planning to write a 6 page paper and just roll with the point deduction... call it 'cutting my losses'. My losses, in this case, being my "sittin' around time".
Unknown2006-05-08 03:19:39
What's it on anyway?

And did that software work or do I have to find something else?
Unknown2006-05-08 03:27:23
I don't see the problem, I always do huge giant essays the night before anyway tongue.gif.
Unknown2006-05-08 03:27:34
Like I said, the effects of violent media on youth and society. My stance is "shut the hell up and find an issue that matters." I'm not going to bother trying to retrieve the other crap, I'm making decent progress.

But..
so many book reports I was made to do. Hatesses them, we does. Stupid Brave New World. Stupid Blade Runner and their nasty dirty essays. Which I really did on a movie and the reflection on the human condition today for Blade Runner among other Ridley Scott works. Etc.

In that case, go on to state examples of positive and negative examples and effects. Example: Colorado was caused by VIOLENT VIDEO GAMES. Apparently. Go on to disprove the nasty dirty ugly face using personal examples and plenty of use of the words "hyper-sensitivity, humor, development of moral sense." Blah. I managed that in year 10 for my SC, anyway. Pretty much the exact same topic, that and the other crap that was presented, as well as my personal views on the subject, got me 91%. I was rather proud of that. Blah.
I guess. And toss in something about hte social and socio-economic conditions - example, how many massacres in the US where guns are freely available and the culture is pumped up with them, while in say, Aus, the Port-something-in-Tasmania massacre was done by a sociopath with a semi-automatic who didnm't own a television and was a paranoid schizophrenic, too, if I remember. And I don't think there has ever been one in Britain.

Typing for typing's sake is fun!

Might be worth mentioning that Japan has more violent games and media but far far fewer violent crimes.
Unknown2006-05-08 03:41:23
Yes, but Japan is full of Japanese people. I don't know about the rest of you, but the presence of Asians lowers my blood pressure. *nodnod*

Must be all the fish.

The blood pressure loss is caused by all the blood rushing down, Guido.

Thats because its so crowded that no matter where you are, you're within the line of sight of at least 20 people. tongue.gif

I've been found out!

Yrael, bring the buggy around back! We haven't much time to escape!
Verithrax2006-05-08 03:53:37
Dude, the buggy isn't big enough to hold all the bukkake porn. Better take the B-52.

But how will we fit both Aiwendil and Jadryga into the buggy if the pair of us are in there?
