i can't see any text posted so i'm going to go right ahead and bring up interplanar rifts going through distort. Rediculuos.
Daevos2006-05-11 00:30:10
I take the opposite view, distort is already too powerful in my opinion and doesn't need any further boosts. Raiding should be a viable option in this game.
Murphy2006-05-11 00:31:15
I agree with daevos on this.
Unknown2006-05-11 00:32:34
Wha? How can you agree with him when he's disagreeing with you?
Unknown2006-05-11 00:35:57
Murphy, stop spelling like an American .
But yes, how can you agree with someone who disagrees with you...unless you're backing down so easily?

It's called "sarcasm," I believe.

I don't think so.. the Murph doesn't usually go for subtlety.. he likes smashing boxes and bashing heads

What is this "sarcasm" you speak of?

I'm pretty sure that the first post is mostly tongue-in-cheek. That's how I read it, even before I got down to the "I agree with Daevos" part.

I was actually confused by his post, because the topic title is cubix, but his post is about interplanar rifts. I thought he was saying he thought it was rediculous that you could distort a village, but still use planar rifts to get to/from.
Which I was thinking is actually a valid argument you could have.

Firstly i don't speak like a damn yank, the rediculous misspeel was just me being lazy.
Secondly i'm about as subtle as a roundhouse kick to the head, i'm only sarcastic when it's funny to do so.
Thirdly, I was just getting the conversation started, and i thought i'd mess with you all by flip flopping in record time.

Well, this was originally my topic whining about cubixes working through distort while no other skill does (not even tumble), but whatever.

EDIT: I'm also a smart-ass as being Australian requires it.

Transverse works through distort...
but how can tumble not work through distort, thats very odd.

Something in the cubix mechanics needs to change. With the removal of demesne summons and wisping, it is impossible to kill cubixers unless they let themselves be disabled. I'm not saying distort needs to block, but something needs to change.
Sure, Daevos (or Mag itself) spent all those credits so he could raid to his black heart's delight, but it needs a limitation of some sort.
Of course, everyone is gonna flame me for this, but just wait. In two months, when Serens start using cubixes again to regularly raid (oh, I guess Narsrim has that prism) everyone will complain. Just you wait.

I agree with Daevos, distortion is too good.
I would love to see it changed, it should harm raiders but help defenders, so raiding would be possible, you would have chance to get out from village but if defenders will be fast enough and catch you they would have advatage some sort on you, like maybe in distorted village, citizens of city/commune who controls this village would have raised stats or damage boost or damage reduction, maybe passive afflictions healing?
ferlas2006-05-11 08:36:33
I dont think you should be able to stop a 2000 credit artifact so easily with just something like distort really.

Maybe it's actually Gravity that stops the tumble? I saw people evoking them both at the same time so maybe that created the confusion.

Well put, if someone or some city puts out for a 2000 credit artie, it should be able to pop past distort with no problems at all...
