If you don't mind the pettifoggery, it's actually a 1000-credit artifact.
Marcalo2006-05-11 14:13:34
considering almost any mind affliction stops you from being able to cubix, I'd say it has enough disadvantages.

What!? Why did I pay twice as much then sad.gif

I think it should be reversed, cubix should be blocked by distort because it is definitely magical travel. Tumble/roll isn't, and I don't see why it should be blocked at all, considering it is rather mundane.
Unknown2006-05-11 14:56:31
Remind me how to give a mind affliction when we can't get close to the raider in the first place?

CODE

Transplanar Cubix: 2000 credits
   - Lets you enter the astral fulcrux locations with access to all the
astrospheres as well as the higher planar fulcrux which doorways to
the cosmic planes. You can also reach the lower and prime planar
     fulcrux locations.
   - It will only work from the known planes of existence (prime,
ethereal, elemental, cosmic and astral planes).
   - Syntax: TOUCH CUBIX

It's the cameo that's 1000.

He called it pettifoggery. He wasn't being serious.

Come on, people, keep up. tongue.gif

Wait, tumble is blocked in a village, something like sprinting isn't?! ...
Daganev2006-05-11 16:32:22
tumble isn't blocked by distort its blocked by gravity... pay attention!
ferlas2006-05-11 17:12:41
I don't see the benefit of adding in more ways to stop a cubix really its expensive and it already has a few ways to prevent it, it should be very useful unless they want people to stop buying them.
Daganev2006-05-11 17:29:13
Make distort work, and reduce the price to 100 credits.. then I can hunt on astral more!

Oh really now, how is the newly nerfed sprint sneaking into a conversation about the most powerful escape tool out there?

Tumble is blocked by distortion, so accept your own advice and pay attention

Maybe it's actually Gravity that stops the tumble? I saw people evoking them both at the same time so maybe that created the confusion.

Nobody stated otherwise... so I assumed nobody dissagreeed, sue me!

you can sprint past guards. You can't tumble past them. tongue.gif
Unknown2006-05-11 18:09:19
I was talking about defenders, but ok, I'll give you that if someone places guards incorrectly you can sprint past them.
Ashteru2006-05-11 18:25:00
I sprinted into Estelbar once, y'know....past 8 hags.

Although I could've tanked them, probably, hmm....must try it out once.
Unknown2006-05-11 20:01:30
That couldn't have been any time in the last 30 IG years, unless someone screwed up Guards. There were always 10 centaurs and a statue at the first turn, which acted as a break in sprinting.

It was a day before it revolted the last time. So...this week or so.

I believe that a Cubix should have the same sort of limitations that Imperian puts on its similar artifact. In Imperian, the person has to already be flying before he can use the wings to go up on the clouds. I do not know exactly what limitation could be put in place to bring a sort of balance to the artifact like what I mentioned, but I do not think having something like distort stopping the use of a Cubix/Prism is the answer.

Ohm… Maybe make the Cubix/Prism only useable when the person is not in the direct presence of another from an organization he/she is an enemy of? The person would have to first find a room empty of Org. enemies to Cubix away. That idea would probably be too costly in time to code effectively.
