Should be able to code it with the parameters of DECLARE...
So instead of being based on org enemies, its based on if anyone who is declared against you, or you are declared against them, can't be in the room.
also geb, get those aquas an evnoy.

I believe that a Cubix should have the same sort of limitations that Imperian puts on its similar artifact. In Imperian, the person has to already be flying before he can use the wings to go up on the clouds. I do not know exactly what limitation could be put in place to bring a sort of balance to the artifact like what I mentioned, but I do not think having something like distort stopping the use of a Cubix/Prism is the answer.
Ohm… Maybe make the Cubix/Prism only useable when the person is not in the direct presence of another from an organization he/she is an enemy of? The person would have to first find a room empty of Org. enemies to Cubix away. That idea would probably be too costly in time to code effectively.
What if using a cubix/prism was more like.... that teleport tarot?
TOUCH PRISM opens a doorway to the fulcrux which remains for a few seconds, and takes say 1 second of equilibrium. You have to be clear of mental afflictions to touch the prism/cubix, and you must be able to move to enter the gateway.
Distort wouldn't have to block it then, and it would implicitly require you to use it without your enemies standing around so they don't follow you in.

I would so love that idea

I was talking about defenders, but ok, I'll give you that if someone places guards incorrectly you can sprint past them.
Sprint is still useful for bypassing well placed guards.

No enemies seems a bit to restrictive for an artifact that expensive, I do like the flying then running idea though so touch cubix makes the room open a portal to the fulcrux 4 second balance and touch cubix again makes you enter the portal to the cubix rooms. Means you can see it being started in combat and then you can stop it by kicking them out of the room with things like gust(which everyone can get) or tackle etc etc.

Isn't that what I just suggested?

Oh sorry I thought you said the presence of enemies means that would stop it or that they would be able to follow you through by entering.
Anyway there always is that option of stopping cubixers which no one has though of.
It's called buy your own cubix and follow them anyway.
In fact I've changed my mind, there should be nearly no ways to prevent a cubix aside from the obvious, the counter to a cubix is a cubix.

Maybe have distort only have a -chance- of blocking an attempt to teleport via a skill or item, 50-75%, and have it hit the user with five or six seconds of balance loss upon failure?
"You begin to slip forward through aether, but are suddenly hurled backwards by a jarring force as the distortion field around the village shudders and repulses you. "

Apparently Terentia doesn't want to be a temperary patron. And most of the guild doesn't want to replace Lacostian, even though he probably won't be back. So no envoy for us, it seems. At least for a while.

Emphermerals should be able to appoint an Envoy for you... so silly that you have to choose between having the skills improved, or keeping your RP.

Estarra can appoint them as well. Has anyone tried messaging her? Or maybe have the GM issue himself?

I agree Ferlas, people need to quit complaining and buy a cubix if they want a counter. I really doubt they will change the cubix around anyways since it cost so many credits and I am pretty sure most people who would consider buying one wouldn't even bother... which would equal a sale loss to them. And the people who have spent so much on one would more than likely let their voices be heard for quite a while. Always keep in mind not everyone in the basin has a cubix, so it isnt as if the whole basin is popping in and out against all your attempts to thwart them.. and if you owned a cubix I highly doubt you would be supporting them being nerf'd. Suck it up, save your gold and maybe you too can be a cubix owner... I wish I was one.
Geb2006-05-14 03:21:12
I own a Cubix. Heh, was the first one in the realms to purchase one. Therefore, your assumption is incorrect.
Unknown2006-05-14 03:33:24
Or we can fix the cubix problem with one simple solution.
When one TOUCHes CUBIX, they lose all entourage, therefore allowing nobody to follow them up to Limbo.
What this will do in the long run is stop for huge group mini raids, i.e. Daevos comes to Celestia with 5 goofballs, 20 Celestines arrive and Daevos and his goofballs cubix away. What will have to happen is, Daevos heads to Celestia, while group B comes in through tesseract. If too many enemies appear for Daevos, he'll cubix, however the others will have to tesseract out to safety.

I think that is a silly idea, cubixes work fine the way they are. Distort itself needs toning down

Seeing as Magnagora is the city with the most number of combatants owning Cubixes, hardly a surprising comment.
Murphy2006-05-14 05:21:58
erm, celest has vesar and geb's and do they have 1 other?
magnagora has daevos' and athana's and kayde's.
Notr excatly a big ratio, but they are like wings in achaea, you afford them because they are useful, and it's a case of the have's and have nots as it always is.
if you don't like it, go buy one yourself it makes lusternia more money.

The cubix is meant for the owner, not a group following.
Therefore, if cubix was changed to lose entourage upon touching, that would be a reasonable upgrade.
