We really need a new forum section entitled 'the Nursery', so that the moderators can keep the children away from the rest of the forums.

Let me give you some pointers about being a jerk.

Firstly, do it IC. I try to refrain from yelling out pussies, and other modern culture swearwords.

Secondly, don't do it unless you can back yourself up. Nothing you say can redeem the fact that you got nailed and died.

Thirdly, don't be a douche and attack people outside the arena.

Actually, Weylin's always been very good about staying IC with me. (After Krellan killed him, we had a nice, intense chat about Brother Crow's teachings in Nirrti's nest and all...) He doesn't write sloppily, with typos, lack of capitals, etc... in game. He seems aware of the fact that waging war on organisations full of people who can crush him easily is a bad idea, but also seems to feel it's his role; the only reason this is so shocking is because people generally don't play characters who make bad decisions, and tend to attribute other characters' bad decisions to the player, not the character. He's pretty good about taking his lumps for what he does IC. Really, the only thing you can complain about regarding his behaviour in-game is that in tough moments he'll hurl the occasional inappropriate insult at someone... and it's not like plenty of people don't do that when PK's involved.

Can you really not understand the source of his frustration? Here's how the conflict between him and Serenwilde got started:



So then he attempted to get IC retribution, killing Ladies and attacking Serenwilders his might, only to get stomped promptly by Serenwilders 10-20 times his might. The conflict with Celest was similar: he gets enemied for a ridiculous reason (I nearly did for the same when I was pretty new to the game), goes after Celestians his might in retribution, gets stomped by Celestians 10-20 times his might. The moral of the story? Low-might people can't really initiate conflict with others on the same playing field without getting their posteriors handed to them by better fighters in the same organisation. It can't be very fun to be at the bottom, eh? (He does a really good job with what few skills he has, too.)

This is not to justify calling people kitties nor the rants threads, but... really, have some empathy. The things I quoted above were at least as uncalled-for.

By Biggot, I mean the assumtions and prejudices made againt people who might happen to enjoy a graphics based online game.. incase that wasn't clear. There is no intent of actually claiming that Corinthian is in real life a biggot in any shape or form.

Uhm.. calling someone an arse hat and yelling "Pussies" is calling names. I don't do that. I call him childish because yelling out Pussies IS childish.

And in my opinion, he didn't seem IC at all, or at least I didn't catch a character. He seemed like a kid from WoW. And he hurled me insults as Nil.

- One time, I'm tired of trying to translate some Mechanical stuff into Nexus and I had all my defenses down. He tells me to have a spar. I didn't know him by that time. He doesn't care that I'm a Celestian, and Paladin no less and that I dispise his Forest and he goes and ask me for a spar. I tell him to bother the other city or some Glomdoring. He tells me no one's there. So I agree to meet him at the aetherplex. We fight and I die. Too freaking tired and with no reflexes and I die. Vitae got me up again and he stops attacking me. Fair, we had a Spar on Avencha just so he wouldn't bother me agaain and I die and have some fun learning some techniques out of him. So then a few days pass and a little deal with Gwilym happens, I had two vengances on him and I call the Avenger on him two times. I called the avenger on Weylin first by pure acccident, he slings me insults and I tell him to chill out. And so I tell him that we should spar again but never had the chance. In all the times he seemed borderline OOC.

I didn't say anything because I had a fun time. But to tell you the truth, he's no RPer, he's a PKer(and a good one, he has a future so don't lose it Glom). And because of his attitude I think he deserves what he got.



I enjoy Graphics based MMOs(too poor right now). But there are a big diff between Gamers and Players.

I can't help getting the feeling that Weylin comes to the forums whenever something happens that he disagrees with, whether he brought it upon himself or not.

I have to wonder, though, what would happen if some of his actions were to come to the attention of the Ebonguard... I don't think they'd really condone that.
