I dislike anti-american propeganda, being american and all. There are enough honestly bad things about america as is - making a movie that says we're horrible people for participating in WWII disgusts me, especially the way they go about it.

Also, the kid deserved to die for being a stubborn idiot. He had plenty of family he could have gone to, but he didn't because they wouldn't coddle him, and so not only did he die, but his sister did too. I see no reason why I should feel remorse for a kid who killed his own sister, and the sister wasn't that interesting of a character, so I didn't care much when she died either.

I have no idea whether it was released outside of Australia or not, but the end of the movie 'Kokoda' (Aussie war movie about the WWII Kokoda campaign) had me on the brink of tears. I guess that underneath all my cynicism I'm a god damned patriot.

Dances with wolves made me cry, I always sympathies with an animal or old person.

Ahh all these movies, some I've watched and others I haven't (didn't see Grave of the Fireflies -yet-, so please don't post spoilers!) What are some things you do after a movie really gets you down? Is there a movie that counterbalances it? It's going to put me into a depression for the next couple a' days, ARGH *is pathetic* sad.gif

"A series of unfortunate events"

it's a very sad series of events, the making of this film

Ok, it may have been funny the first time, but the joke is definitely old.

And that's a good movie.

The end of The Crucible.

Pay it Forward may me want to cry and I got depressed at the end of the movie...
A.I was pretty sad.
Lion King was defiently sad when the father of Simba dies...forgot his name...stupid me
Finding Neverland, that was a great movie but the ending made me want to cry.
XIII Warrior made me sad...quite a few parts that were rather sad, but great movie!
Angel Eyes was sad and so was the Count of Monte Cristo!
Edward Scissorhands was extremely sad. I love Johnny Depp!

I try to avoid sad movies. Movies with sad elements (and computer games too - FF VII, wink wink nudge nudge) are geat, but movies which exist only to make you feel miserable are the ones I don't like. Come on, what's this supposed to be - katharsis? I'll pass and gladly watch something upbeat instead.

That being said, I agree with what Shorlen said - the guy in Grave of Fireflies was a dumbass and let his small sister (don't know about himself, didn't see it all) get killed only because they were too "proud" to "live inside the system". Jerk. But I still felt sorry for them.

I'm not a Christian, and I didn't think it would get to me. But damn was that a powerful ending, and I'm lucky I didn't burst into tears in the middle of class when we watched it.

The hills have eyes, some of the best death scenes I have ever seen, I laughed, I cried, I wanted to clap aloud during the movie at the theater. Oh and Hostle the only movie to make me cry, or dry heave.
Ildaudid2006-05-24 19:20:01
The Professional, it made me sad.
Las Communidad, well that actually made me happy doh.gif
Forren2006-05-24 20:50:57
I just watched Philadelphia. That movie is sad at the end.

LoTR was kind of sad too, I think.

Butterfly Effect (theatrical ending, not the stupid director's cut) has made me cry.

Depending on my mood, the Jurassic Park theme does bad things to me (not the actual movie). Hmm, what else. I dunno, I'll think of some later.

And that is not ruining anything, you know it.
Marcalo2006-05-24 23:56:46
the jet li flick? I have seen that I didn't really like it.
Unknown2006-05-25 00:03:01
He has alot of flicks, silly. This one was all sub-titled. It had a lame romance in it, and most of the characters were flat (except the emperor, he pwned) but I thought it was good purely for some of the insane fight scenes. Like when broken sword and his girlfriend charged on the forbidden city, that was so cool. Watch it again and appreciate it, you cultural dolt.
