Just because thoros was talking about mind blasts, they seem perfectly fine to me aside from athana. Of course they are powerful but they can be handeled in demense with hinderance and such.

It may be interesting to kind of cap them though or change them a bit so faeling titans dont just mush people in a hit.

And how much ego/charisma Revan had at that time??

Test it in a demense, like I said in the other thread mindcrush orwhatver its called alone isn't much, but couple it with other things they have access to and its really strong.

As for you guys talking about demesnes: Love potion. Why? because you can either have us constantly rejecting you, hindering our psionics due to equilibrium loss... or have the demesne not affect you at all

Alright, what does the damage look like from someone with 18 charisma, of a similarly high level?

He is a mugwump with 11+1+2 charisma 14 charisma the best he can get without changing race or expensive buffs. And I am a fully defed up shadowdancer furrikin with base charisma.

Ill test in a demense with him around, but at the moment out of demence without hindering I can easily tank him+the constant telepath afflictions.

I just mean, we wouldn't use someone with 14 (buffed) strength as an example of how knights can't deal damage. It would be nice to see how the damage scales to high charisma.

Well I would use someone with full class defences to test a skill which is what I did.

In fact he has better than just class buffs

The best warrior damage I would test on is a taurian probally 15+2 racialy

thats 17+2 from class+1 from highmagic

so 20 as a normal average easy to get for them.

I'd like to test mages as the best race for them which is mugump and probally as a faeling or a furrikin.

I'd say it would be best to test someone with charisma of about 15 or 16 to get the best idea of how the skill works. Revan does come slightly under this but as the only other telepath I know of i athana revan is the only one we can test with.

Revan, do you have a cameo? I thought you did... though maybe my recollection is faulty.

If so, could you test again as a Faeling or Tae'dae? I'd happily submit to a test as someone without any racial resistance.

I dont think he does, i'd like to test on someone who has 15 or 16 charisma anyway though that seems the average most are going to get.

I would say 18 is fairly common, and you'd expect to see quite a few 19's and 20's. Imperial merians have 15 base charisma, remember - and karma blessings and thrones aren't too difficult to obtain.

All of these things effect mindblast damage. I cannot concieve how this log of you, a furrikin with a sip bonus(from stone) and a sprite (passivley restores mana) standing outside a demesne against a mugwump who is hardly buffed and not even using his other channels (like throat locking) shows ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING related to how this ability is balanced in combat. It gives no serious data that is reflective to how this skill is or is not imbalanced in regards to actual combat.


This is like taking ixion without deffs, removing his elemental runes, and asking him to swing with one sword, and posting that as factual evidence that damage warriors are not overpowered. (They aren't, damage sucks here, but was just to make an example.)

Also, regardless of whether or not other peoples' mindblast damage is balanced, titan mindblast is absolutely insane. There's just nothing you can do against the kind of damage Athana does.

Oh yea I agree, I think normal mindblast is fine but faeling titans mind blast is overpowered. I suggested just tweakin the way it hits so it dosnt make your average mage like revan underpowered but it balanced out the titans. Don't make it so only titans with artifacts can use it anymore though.

I mean they nerfed warrior damage so much that only fully artifacted warriors had a change of doing any damage and I don't really like that either.

titan faeling only has 2 higher charisma, unless in this case we're saying that two charisma is what makes this ability imbalancing

lunge costs 2 power doesnt hit through shields, no where near as good as mind blast yet mindblast has no powercost can hit through shield and almost everything else, i find it strange
