Mreh, doesn't exactly answer my question but I'll UNVOTE for now...
I'm three votes off right now. If you guys need me to roleclaim, I can, but I'm more useful unknown. *shrug.*
And sorry for any delays in posting by me, I have the SATs on saturday, and then ACTs next week, so just a little stress :-\\.

SCUM! SCUM! LYNCH HIM!
Unknown2006-05-31 22:51:07
I'm not scum. You, however, are an idiot.
Name one role thats more useful *when known* by the scum, besides the miller?

I'm not an idiot. I've simply found someone who voted against me and can be construed as acting suspiciously. Therefore, I'm trying to get him lynched.
And it could be good to know who you are. Then some healer-type can keep you alive.

Well, think about it this way - lets say we lynch a random person. We know that the scum are less than half of the people, so we have an unfavorable chance of lynching a scum. The more innocent people we lynch, the closer the scum are to taking the majority, at which point they win.
I personally KNOW that I'm not scum, so lynching me would increase the scum/others ratio in addition to losing my ability.
(if this makes no sense, please call me on it, I'm used to rules when I play IRL, so I could be messing something up).
I didn't mean to call you an idiot, that was just me being stupid. Sowwy. And you make a valid point about the healer... although it doesn't ALWAYS apply.

Welcome to the game Iridiel...
Can you comment on Tsaephai's code remarks, because now I'm all confused.

Yeah, but we NEED to lynch a random person.
I've picked you, Azael. Congratulations.

I don't like how he jumped on Azael pointing out for defending Tsaephai. What Tsaephai said is correct; there's no point to defending yourself against a random vote because there's nothing TO defend (which is why the pointless bandwagon against me last game frusturated me highly). And obviously most people (ie. everyone except scum, masons, and cops with innocent investigations) know nothing about the roles of other people; that's kind of the point of Mafia. But you have to look for scumminess in the posts and defend what seems to make sense to defend.
And FOS: Hazar. Lynching because someone is scummy >>>>>> random lynching. In fact, random lynching should almost always be avoided if possible.

I didn't realize we could vote for no lynch. Overlooked that.

Apparently you missed my unvote.... I'm starting to trust Quidgyboo on this one, and Ashteru is acting the most scummy in my eye right now, right next to hazar.
No lynch is often worse than a random lynch, and random lynche's are pretty bad...

Do we have to go through this every single bloody game? A no lynch on day one is a terrible way to start! GAH! I swear, if this happens again I'll make more idle threats and not do anything about it! .
But seriously, no lynching on day one is stupid. If you've played before like you said Azael then you should know that.

I've never played before with no lynch *twiddle.*
But it seems like it would be better, why is it such a bad idea?
Unknown2006-06-01 03:18:28
No lynch on day one gains the scum much more than it gains the town in that there is no chance they will be killed and every chance that they will be able to make an unhindered night kill.
Killing anyone during the day, scum or town, gives us information about them and everyone else based on their interactions during day one. At least then we can make a somewhat educated guess about what to do the next day (or that night, if you have a night role).
In short, a no lynch on day one makes day two virtually the same day.

See, I've always played this as a live drama game. Very different mechanic. Much more reading of faces and movements, less psychology, less posturing.
Iridiel2006-06-01 09:17:24
I guess Tsae had a gutfeeling that you were good and that was the code about, otherwise I have no clue. The fact that nighttalk is forbidden when we can have traitors among us is no strange thing, and I do hope all of you are careful with that. Even an old member of your guild or Order can be a traitor, as maybe the magics of the Taint are impersonating them.
Hope I got it allright and I am not being extra paranoid but that's what I got from the setting.
