Hello. Um, the other day, a novice asked my Azman character why was he elfen. The novice was being good-naturedly curious, but it did strike me. It is actually not common for an elfen to be a Shadowdancer. So I am wondering, are there any more characters out there whose race are not necessarily common for the characters' decided archetype/guild? And if so, any reason?

Speaking from the point of view of a novice trainer... there are actually quite a few Elfen running around. After faeling, I'd say it's the most common race, with a mix of furrikin / mugwump tossed in afterwards.

Epp! I really should take notice of novices more. But sometimes they seem to look at you funny... shifty like....

Bad race/archetype choice? Anything with an intelligence less that 12 as anything that isn't a warrior.
Bad race/guild choice: Viscanti Aquamancer/Celestine or Merian Geomancer/Nihilist

I just made a faeling moondancer alt. Ok, it's not as practical in terms of specialisation boosts, but who cares? I like the fairy RP

Trill warrior, as I am quickly and painfully learning. But I like my RP, and really, since it's a game, that's what counts most in my eyes.

heck yeah, although I'm about to lose archmortal from all of these so-called "failed" defendings of Celestia and whatnot... *grumble* It's actually not all that bad what with fullplate, and being able to fly makes astral significantly easier.

And yes, trill RP is very fun

Last comment I'd like to make is that I suddenly noticed a fairly large number of trill novice paladins..

A friend of mine is playing a Viscanti Paladin.

And I've noticed that there aren't too many trill druids in my guild either...only 1-2.

I played a Viscanti Paladin for a bit, didn't run into too much trouble. Just didn't want to scare the newbie, I think.

I made the mistake of getting a friend of mine to start Lusternia as my twin; he was a viscanti Celestine, I was a viscanti Paladin.

I've never really been able to get him to play much, since.
