...There is no way the people in Bleach are 15.
That is all.
they are f'ing overgrown Japanese monsters! They are the sons and daughters of Godzilla and Ultraman!!!!!
And on a serious note, if you don't like Anime, don't watch Americans dubbing Anime. It sucks. It ruins the anime. Watch it in japanese with subtitles. It's good and you can pause it if you want ta.
I mean, you play in a f'ing game with nothing but words that go faster than the speed of light, I'm sure you know how to handle big dialoges and action on the screen

Okay, so, don't watch English redubbings, only the originals with subtitles.
Howl's Moving Castle - is that based off of the book by Diana Wynne Jones?
I think one of my friends might have the first few episodes of Evangelion, so I'll try and get those off of him.
And I'll check out some of the other stuff recommended.
Thanks!

Eh, that kind of varies by opinion, and by show...

I despise FMA. The ending SUCKED! The rest was fine though.

The Stand-Alone Complex english dub was/is prety good, in my opinion. and I feel like a stupid for forgetting to say Bleach was good. Was, because I dont like the current season at all. And if you start watching it, hear that they're 15, and expect them to act 15... you are in for 18-25 year olds claiming they're 18. They are not 15. They don't even look 15. End of story.
If you want something really random, Melancholy of Harhi Suzumiya is pretty funny. They're airing ep. 14 right now (even though its only like the 5th or 6th released) because they can. Don't worry, the episodes are pretty easy to comprehend individually, but some of the context regarding psychic powers and stuff might be a little off 'till they fill it all in later.

Yes, that is strictly personal preference. Some shows have good voice acting, most have sucky voice acting. It really just depends on the show. As an example, Greg Ayres (an american voice actor) does some pretty great rolls, 'Son Goku' - Saiyuki, 'Kousuke Asazuki' - Spiral, 'Satoshi Hiwatari' - D.N.Angel, and really annoyed me as 'Taro Yamada' in Sister Princess.
Which reminds me, have we mentioned D.N.Angel yet? The main character is a descendent of a family of super thieves, and ends up becoming the phantom theif Dark. Who's genes are passed down through the males of the family.
Beautifully animated, great music, and the cutest, strawberry loving, animal side kick ever

Hello. Um, this is a good anime synobsis/review website

*chuckle* Purposely linked it to Akazukin Cha Cha. Always bring a smile when I think of that anime. Scroll all the way down for the site's A to Z anime encyclopedia link.

Eva is, in my opinion, the worst of the serious anime, though those who are fond of christian symbology and emo kids tend to like it. If you find the main character too emo or the jeudeo-christian cabala references too thick, know that it is the exception and not the rule.
RahXephon is a series very similar to Eva, except the main character isn't emo and the mythology is mayan/aztec instead of christian.
<--- Eva hater

D.N.Angel just looked really childish to me, I couldn't watch more than 3-4 episodes of it, hmm. :/ It's silly as well.

ANYTHING by Studio Ghibli. Or anything connected with Miyazaki.

NO! Anime=sucks!! Manga=good! The anime can go burn itself. >:( Stupid...*grumbles* Oh and..the furball was cute...even in the anime.
Anyway, it really depends on: a. the anime and b. your personal prefrence. For instance, I very much like Wolf's Rain in english, because I thought it was good and I...like anime in english. But with Flame of Recca, that was total and utter crap when the english voice acting. I instead watched the Japanese subtitled version.
Don't hate Eva. I'm so not Emo nor am I Christan and Eva..is confusing but good. Rei and Aska are pretty cool (aska kicks arse in the ending). Shinji...panzy...*eyetwitch* They should have killed him off at the beginning. And RahXephon was, to me, more confusing the Eva...but that's just me. And it was pretty and the main character was a panzy too. WHAT IS WITH THE PANZIES??? And...the girl from Escaflowne was a panzy too dang it!
ok no more! I need sleep...not really but whatever.

Anyone who thinks anime is silly, fantastic, or ultraviolent and full of sex, watch Kimi ga Nozumo Eien. The second episode made me sit in anime club and sob.

Most of my suggestions have already been posted. Ummm... let's see... Bleach is one helluva good anime untill they get to the bound (as already stated) (look it up on YouTube if you think you are interested) , a whole lot better than Naruto in my opinion, but it can get a bit silly at times.
I would recommend everything Ghost in the Shell, but the movies tend to have a lot of nudity in them. It is set in the near future and has some nice action sequences.
Read or Die the movie is pretty cool, but I didn't really like the TV show. Lots of historical and legendary figures show up here.
The original Record of Lodoss War is pretty good, but the newer TV series dosen't do the old series justice in my opinion. Kinda like an animated D&D adventure with all your basic races and classes like elves, dwarves, humans, goblins, kobolds, dragons, thieves, warriors, priests, and sorcerers. Very pretty for its age.
I hate to say it but the anime that got me hooked was Gundam Wing and in my opinion it is still one of the best ones I have ever seen. About giant robots and the adolecent boys who pilot them if you don't know, though thats probably not a very good description for it.
Mabey Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star if you're more into sci-fi.
Possibly Tenchi Muyo, Universe, Tokyo but if you're looking for something more serious I wouldn't go this rout.
Thats basically it for me.

Trigun really is silly at first. I think that's kind of the point though, it's pretty humorous.
I like Bleach if you've ever seen that. No english dub though, I've watched it all online with english subtitles. It's interesting.
Edit: Oh seems someone mentioned Bleach already. Then I'll mention Elfen Lied. It's really short, only 13 episodes, but it's definitely different. Some people hate it, some people like it. I don't recommend it to everyone because it's EXTREMELY bloody/violent/gory and has quite a bit of nudity. You have been warned. It definitely gets a mature rating. I felt the story was good, however.

I agree. The artwork of the original Record of Lodass War did set a standard, which is still credible today. And the theme 'Adesso e Fortuna' is still my favourite anime song for so long. Another unique artwork could be found in the movie Akira. Interesting story with an underlying insight to the teenage spirit. Yet another also would be the first Ghost in the Shell. (Though I am lukewarm to GITS: Innocence, and its 2 series, Stand Alone Complex and 2nd Gig. Though top notch production all of them. Again, maybe I am unfair, but I tend to judge any subsequent anime to its original, and yes, all of GITS has been of top quality, I believe they seemed have missed something. Yes, the original movie had slick animation, a provoking story on human life, but what really moved me about the first GITS was its portrayal of a woman in the character The Major - complex, intriguing, reaching out yet closed, the many silent moments in the movie where the Major only looked on spoke volumes. Yes you could make the argument the GITS movies, series, and manga are not connected and yes, you could argue The Major still retains a complicated personality but if you superimpose the Major of the series, SPOILER!!!! the Major almost never popped up in Innocence, with the Major of the first movie, a depth about her has been lost...)
I really wish I could recommend 12 Kingdoms. Good artwork, good japanese voice acting, interesting setting - a world of fantasy meets ancient china feel, but after watching through the end of the long series, there were too many unanswered questions, particularly with Taiki. You know the feeling when you clutch your hair and hope hope hope the studios would be make some more in the future to warp things up. Here are other anime I have the same issue with : Hellsing, Flame of Recca, Niea under 7, Star Ocean Ex, Desert Punk. *shakes fist* Though I liked the twist in Desert Punk's ending but still.. *clutch his hair and shakes fist*
If you like sherlock holms type mystery then maybe you should look into Detective School Q. I like it at the end of each episode (sometimes a case may run 2 to 3 episodes) the detectives would gather all the suspects and reveal the culprit, then, elementary, explains how the almost ingenious crime was carried out.

Twelve Kingdoms is a little known series that I found extremely interesting for a time.

Did I hear 12 Kingdoms? It's a good anime - favourite one of my dad, by the way. But nevermind. I would recommend it for Shamarah, if not the fact that first 2-3 episodes I found extremely dull, and they left a really bad impression on the rest of the series. The rest, however, is really, really good. The world is rather brutal, but not Jin Roh grade gritty, and it has its lighter moments - but it's not silly or a humorous anime. Also, a very good story about conformism, and how it does no good for you.
Unfinished plots? It's supposed to be that way, to open up things for your imagination, and fanfics. Think FF VII's ending before all the spinoffs kicked it. Also, Enki and En's king are kickass, and everyone who wants to RP a furrikin should see Rakushun - not sure if I spelled his name correctly.

Just another anime noob here, and all anime I've ever watched have been mentioned already, not much left for me to suggest! Probably Chobits? Chii is just the cutest ever! (or ever will be)
