Lord General Bandeon Culhain, Highland Falcon says, "We are gathered 'ere ta
Knight Squire Orti Deepsea, a most deservin' Paladin o' promise."
A pulsing white glow forms in the air, and Terentia emerges from within it.
Bandeon bows respectfully to Terentia.
You kneel before Terentia, swearing your allegiance to Her.
Raikogen gives Terentia a respectful salute.
Forren flashes Terentia a joyous smile.
Terentia inclines Her head politely to those around Her.
Syaoran bows respectfully to Terentia.
You give Terentia a respectful salute.
With a flourish of his arm, Astauldan bows deeply.
Varent gives Terentia a respectful salute.
Hikari curtseys respectfully before Terentia.
Denwin kneels before Terentia, swearing his allegiance to Her.
Araenielle curtseys respectfully before Terentia.
Lucos bows respectfully to Terentia.
Merkada bows respectfully to Terentia.
The Enchanting Forren, Mage of the Light bows his upper body forward towards
Terentia, still remaining seated.
Lord General Bandeon Culhain, Highland Falcon says, "Ta this end, an' since this
be a momentous occasion, bein' the first Knighting in years... Lady Terentia 'as
agreed ta perform the ceremony. Lady?"
Terentia inclines Her head politely to Bandeon.
Terentia stares calculatingly about the Cathedral, before slowly climbing to the
top of the circular platform in the centre of the Cethedral, taking a place
between the pulpit and lectern, off centre of the dais.
You tell Lord General Bandeon Culhain, Highland Falcon, "She will knight me?"
Bandeon tells you, "Yes."
You tell Lord General Bandeon Culhain, Highland Falcon, "Thanks. Now I need to
do a quick fix to the messages, it was ment to target YOU."
Terentia, the Even Bladed says, "You have come together in this most holy
Cathedral, centre of worship to the Supernals and the Light, in order to witness
the Knighting of Orti, Squire of the Paladins. Orti, take your place before Me
here on the dais."
Bandeon tells you, "Heh, sorry, She wanted it kept secret."
You have emoted: Orti climbs the stairs at the centre of the raised platform, to
stand before Terentia.
Terentia, the Even Bladed says, "Squire Orti, you have proven your worth to the
Paladins and performed your duty with honor and skill. Now the time has come to
pledge yourself before the Light, to discover once and for all if you are worthy
in the eyes of the Supernals. Please kneel, and present Me the weapon which you
have purified in Methrenton's forge."
You have emoted: Orti kneels humbly before Terentia and presents his axe hit
first.
You give a curved executioner's greataxe to Terentia, the Even Bladed.
Terentia points a curved executioner's greataxe at you.
Terentia takes up the axe, holding it inches above Orti's bowed head.
Terentia, the Even Bladed says, "This blade, purified in the fires of
Methrenton's Holy Forge, will judge the truth of your vows. You have taken of
the waters of the Pool of Stars, as did the Paladins of old. This act has marked
you to the Light. Speak your Oaths sincerely and the weapon will respond to the
words of a true Knight. Speak with falsehood in your heart, and all present will
know your shame."
The blade lifts out of Terentia's hands, before the blade descends onto Orti's
right shoulder, glowing with a faint, white light.
Terentia, the Even Bladed says, "A Knight seeks to uphold truth and justice in
all he does. Squire Orti, speak the Oath of Honour."
You say, "My actions will be held to a higher standard; treachery and dishonour
are the tenets of the unenlightened."
The axe passes slowly over Orti's head, the light from the weapon growing
brighter and gently illuminating the room as it comes to rest on Orti's left
shoulder.
Terentia, the Even Bladed says, "A sharp mind serves a Knight as well as a sharp
blade. Squire Orti, speak the Oath of Intelligence."
You say, "My mind will temper my actions, to ensure that my fervor never
interferes with my duty."
The axe floats into the air once again, causing pulses of intensified bright
white light to run up and down the length of the axe as it slowly returns to
Orti's right shoulder.
Terentia, the Even Bladed says, "Compassion, and the ability to know when to use
it, are the marks of a true Knight. Squire Orti, speak the Oath of Wisdom."
You say, "Whensoever my duty permits, I will act with compassion, but never will
I let that compassion cloud my judgement."
The axe returns to the left shoulder, and the light now casts soft white hues
around the dais.
Terentia, the Even Bladed says, "A Knight is not ruled by arrogance or pride.
Squire Orti, speak the Oath of Humility."
You say, "I am ever mindful of the respect owed my brethren, never will I hold
myself above those who share my cause."
The axe is raised for the last time, and returns once more to Orti's right
shoulder, the glow increasing to bathe Orti in white light as it floats in the
air.
Terentia, the Even Bladed says, "A Knight obeys his ranking officers and never
falters in effort or dedication. Squire Orti, speak the Oath of Discipline."
You say, "My body, my mind and my spirit are the tools of the Light. I will keep
them honed through constant practice."
The point of the brightly glowing axe is suddenly planted into the ground before
Orti, the glow now surrounding both Orti and Terentia in pure white light.
Terentia gives a curved executioner's greataxe to you.
Terentia, the Even Bladed says, "If your heart is true and you are committed to
the oaths you have spoken, Squire, then take your weapon in your own hands and
speak the final three Oaths, those that the Paladins hold most dear, and let the
Light decide your fate."
You have emoted: Orti solemnly grasps the hilt of the axe, his hands
disappearing into the bright light surrounding the weapon.
You say, "I will keep the memory of Old Celest in my heart, and never forget the
betrayal of the Taint."
You cough softly.
You say, "Ever will the Light guide me, and ever will I worship it in return,
though I may be persecuted by the heretics for my faith.""
You say, "Above all else, I vow to serve the Light and New Celest, and to resist
the Taint wherever it may spread, though my life may be forfeit in doing so."
As Orti speaks the final words, the light from the weapon flares brilliantly,
illuminating the entire Cathedral in a majestic glow. Everything is cast in
bright white hues, leaving no corner in shadow, as though somehow the building
had been brought to the centre of Celestia itself.
Terentia, the Even Bladed says, "The Light accepts your Oaths, Orti, Rise now!
Hold your axe high and proclaim yourself a true Paladin Knight!"
You have emoted: Orti rises to his feet and sweeps the brilliantly shining axe
upwards to hold it high above his head.
You say, "Let it be known that I am a Knight of the Paladins! Mine are the sword
and shield of the Light. Long may they serve in salvation of this world, and in
the next, should my soul be called."
Without warning, bright beams of energy erupt from the statues of the four
Supernals in each corner. Holy white fire, blue lightning, topaz energy, and
pink light all converge upon the upheld weapon, running its entire length,
immersing it in a blinding vortex of colour and light. Then, shining from the
statue of Elohora to the north, comes a final, brilliant beam of white light
that engulfs all the others, unifying them into a shining beacon that seems to
be glow all the colours that went into it at once and yet none of them at all.
This light flows down from the weapon and spreads over Orti's body, slowly
softening as it does, and finally disappears, leaving only the normal light in
the Cathedral once more.
Hikari blinks.
Terentia, the Even Bladed says, "The Supernals have heard your Oaths, and judged
you fit to take your place in their service as a true Knight. You entered the
Cathedral as a Squire, but you will leave it as Sir Orti, Knight of the
Paladins."
Knight Squire Orti Deepsea, a most deservin' Paladin o' promise."
