There is a huge difference between 1 or 2 eyes, and having centaur character, the krokani are still star shaped, centaurs are not.
Right, that's the point -- krokani barely seem like they'd need any adaptation, and yet even they needed some (and there's plenty of messages that are still wrong for them). Centaurs would require orders of magnitude more.

I guess that means this thread just bottomed out, since we're all just agreeing with each other and Estarra.
Go forth my minions, and find me a thread I can be contrary in!

bleh, I hate it when everyone agrees with a conventional wisdom, but are unwilling to point it out to me.

Just a quick question: How the Nil would a centaur be able to parry its hind legs while wielding rapiers / hammers? Arms + weapons wielded in those arms aren't really going to be long enough to get back there, plus the whole horse's body adds in a whole nother range of area (instead of gut, you have horse haunches, horse middle, horse front, etc.)

It wouldn't need to, I'd assume if it was fighting someone it would be face-to-face. There would be no point to add any more body parts other than just trying to make it more complicated than it needs to be.

There is no Slice Wing, skill, or Backstab skill, I'm not sure why you would need to worry about the horse's rear. I don't know of any "yank tail" maneuver. Or my favourite... "Step on tail" much more affective than a stonewall
When fighting an abhorrence you don't have any special concercs as compared to fighting a treefrog, or fighting a human. Granted those are just mobs, but we often overlook such details when its not helpfull.
However... to answer Xenthos's question more directly. 1. Never stand behind a horse or a donkey.. everybody knows that. I.e. If you went around to attack the back end directly you would likely get flung out of the room.
2. If the centaur bends his back legs as he is getting attacked, he will bring his rear closer to his body, and make it fairly easy to parry.
3. If the centaur is dexterous, a few side steps of his feet will allow him to move completly out of the reach of the attacker while also moving his weapons towards said attacker. In affect, the attack directed at the hind legs is now moved to the frontlegs, and you can easily parry that.
As a side note.. If a centaur had pernament mounted status, he would be WAY Overpowerd. Mountkick and trample would just be too deadly I think. Personally thats why I think the race would be more of an issue in Overpoweredness and balance then it would be in issues of "accounting for things"
