Um, yes, quick question. When you request a letter, the letter will have about 13 IC months of decaying time. If you send the letter to someone and he/she doesn't come to the realm for more then 13 IC months, would the letter then be destroyed in transit? And if the letter contain items, would the items too be destroyed?

I'm fairly sure the letter starts decaying when it is actually delivered. So if someone is out of the realm when you post it, they get it when they return and then have the 13 months to do something about it.

Only if their decay times ran out. Items still decay while in transit. So don't try to send someone cow corpses expecting them to receive them when they come online. Letters never decay while in transit. They simply get delivered and then start ticking down for decay.

An interesting fact about letters, you need to be on prime to receive them. I once stayed up on ethereal for a few weeks, and when I finally did transverse back down to prime I got a severely outdated letter from someone.

Yeah...I remember discovering that when a request from Gwylifar to mail him sparkleberries on Astral never arrived.

You also won't get letters if you are indoors, even on Prime.
