I know it's hard to believe that I still don't quite know how this ability works...so if someone could help me better understand I'd really appreciate it. Mainly what does the inquisitioner have to do, how does the attack work at each stage, what does that do to me, how do I stop it, is there any other skill that strips vitae and anything else that I need to know would be great
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance

First, heretic. You see a Shakiniel-looking thing every once in a while that shouts "Heretic, get thee from the Light!" and afflicts you. Twice while you have the affliction, other people in the room (not the afflicted person) will see their aura glow white for a couple seconds. While glowing, you can be hit with infidel. Focus spirit stops the aura glow from being visible, but it does not actually make the window for infidel go away.
So, assuming you haven't done some wrathful demigoddess trick to smear the Celestine for daring to brand you as a heretic, and the power supply and timing was right, next up is infidel. Now you see a Methrenton-looking thing that yells at you for being an infidel and has effects similar to heretic's avatar. This does not cancel heretic. You are now being afflicted twice as often, and taking some pittiance of damage that you'll probably just regen away. Same deal: aura glows twice, focus spirit makes the glow invisible.
Screw wrathful demigoddess at this point. Run away.
If you fail to escape, you get inquisition. All defenses go away and you get a nasty stun.
I forget the power costs for these individually, but the whole combo takes a total of 13. You can protect yourself by strongly encouraging the Celestian to use power (phantoms, sap, etc.). Or, you know, be a good demesne holder and run away!
As far as I know, the only other thing that removes vitae is death.

Heretic - 3p
Infidel - 3p
Inquisition - 6p

Phantoms - 0p. And not a Celestine skill

Also when hit with Inquisition the user is able to do more damage then usual so your most likely dead from a Paladin and barely living from a Celestine. If I remember right I swear only the person who used heretic in the first place can see the glow.

Correct.
Focus spirit prevents the glow from occurring, so the attacker won't know when to follow up.
Failed attempts (IE missing the aura) cost hundreds of mana each.

Phantoms has a 2p cure. If you're a Celestine who never had to deal without, sap is a 10p cure.
Daganev2006-06-03 19:39:46
sap is a 10 power cure? Are we talking about blacktalon sap here?
Xavius2006-06-03 19:42:31
We're talking about trueheal.

Phantoms has a 2p cure.
Since when?
Xavius2006-06-03 19:49:55
If you know how to get rid of phantoms without critique, please tell me now. I'd hate to trans arts for nothing.
Terenas2006-06-03 19:53:29
I meant I always thought Critique was 8 power. Since when was it 2?
Xavius2006-06-03 20:01:23
Er, I'm working off of an ancient AB deal. It might be eight now. I dunno.
Terenas2006-06-03 20:05:55
It's 8, according to Iraen.
Xavius2006-06-03 20:08:02
That's so wrong. 8p cure for a 0p skill? Maybe I won't trans arts anyways!

I really think we need to downgrade a lot of the simple easy to use skills like this, stuff like inquisition and heartburst and sap just reduce combat to simple dull ness. Rub soulless attempt inquisition, continue until it works or you run out of power, Raise cudgel sap continue until it works, heartburst spam until it works, there's to much stuff that will kill just by easy to do repetative motions. I just find it boring

Maybe its that sort of careless power usage that got you blocked in Glom?
Most people don't have the sort of power, nor the skill, to keep people pinned down long enough to just fling stuff like that around.

Sorry but thats the only tatics I see comming from a lot of people, yourself inculded. Its just a constant barrage of one set of commands and just repeat. The insta kills and locks in lusternia are to simple and easy to do.

Myself included? You have never seen me fight, so how can you even presume to include me in your little generalization?
