I have to admit, I was a little panicked myself in the situation as I had no idea Hart was dead (not paying attention to the Serenwilde event--IC "doesn't matter" smile.gif ); I had no idea why I was going to Serenwilde. (Lady Viravain says, "Come to My tree and follow Me"...Shayle does as she's told); and "Prepare your demands" came out of the blue. Lots of OOC freaking. Demands? Gah! Probably the most "on the fly" thinking I've had to do yet.

Slightly stressful...totally fun though. And I'm glad it went the way it did, even if Xenthos and I did have near heart attacks OOC. laugh.gif

Yeralih was in the same boat.

A bit less so I'd think, since she wasn't even a Serenwilde enemy.

I wasn't either at the time. I got unenemied on the way there, though I did have to wonder if anybody there was going to reenemy me (hooray, sitting there ready to cast serpent).

Oh, and to Daevos, I would like to point out that the egg was cracking. We didn't know how little time we had to make the deal. If the egg shattered before it was done, we would have been screwed.

We didn't have the option of waiting, or of not making the deal. We really didn't.

Also, the thing about the Wyrd is funny, 'cause Shorlen's been trying to argue that it is different from the Taint for a long time. He thinks it is much worse and a greater threat to nature - not the same thing at all tongue.gif

That's what I was going for too, but we overlooked a part of the agreement. We had to write that it was a part of Nature.

So? It isn't a good part or a desireable part, and in fact, a part we're trying to destroy, right? Cut out the bad cells to cure the whole, no? I mean, we don't say the Night fae aren't fae, we say they are corrupted and must be slain. There's a difference.

I actually left the Wilde towards the end. I wasn't really enjoying the event much... Kalodan's existence was the main cause of that. I had no say in matters, and my attempts to keep the city quiet went largely ignored, then some novice druid threatened me when I scolded him for lying over the city channel, Kalodan started insulting novices, after he had gone all one-man-army on us, and tried to hijack the Guard's staves, and insulted Viravain, several times, appointed himself representative, which everyone involved - myself included- advised against, and he was promptly dismissed by Viravain (no surprise).....

Yeah. I hiked off to Southgard to tease miners.

I thought Kalo was wonderful in the event... up until White Hart died. The RPed pettiness and poutiness, like a kid who had his favourite toy broken, was really annoying. It might have been true to his character, but it really irritated just about everyone involved on both sides, and it was entirely unnecessary.

He also could have reacted by being so shocked and remorseful that he couldn't even speak. After all, it was a huge unique crisis and an opportunity to react to it as such. Instead, it felt like a normal reaction to something that wasn't going his way, in more of a reversion to how Kalo used to act (at least, in what I've been seeing more recently, the character's matured more). And I do wish, even before White Hart died, that Kalo would've communicated with the rest of us a bit more.

Then again, perhaps Kalo not speaking would be one of the signs of Kethuru's return and the destruction of the world? rolleyes.gif

Hmm, I don't come onto forums that much. But has been an interesting thread. So, is the Hartstone really -that- looked down upon, even by others in the Wilde? Makes me a little sad, as the Hartstone is all Yini has known. She tries her best to make things work...

I'd like to see Serenwilde suddenly snap and go back on the negotiations. I wonder what -that- would lead to... chin.gif

What negotiations? You mean the stuff we had to agree to that we already did?

First thing about the forums to keep in mind ... it's easy to be negative, and it's easy to be biased towards one's own character's associations and affiliations. RP of organizations is often criticized by others, especially others who have characters in organizations opposed to the one they're criticizing.

And remember, all guilds need members who try their best to make things work. I don't know much about Hartstone other than I'm hoping the Serenwilde can get some more inter-guild unity going on, but I'm sure that if you're trying your best to contribute, it's helping any problems that may be around, which is wonderful. clap_1.gif

You'll also have to remember that some judge based on things that happened ages ago. Nearly every Hartstone Champion in the beginning was a member of the Disciples of Crow and tried to raise Crow. Hartstone had more members of the Disciples than any other Serenwilde guild. The Hartstone Guildmaster (Niara) KNEW THIS and did nothing. This has soured many people's opinions of the guild.

With a guildmaster that completely ignored her guild and the Wilde and did nothing but bash (Niara), a set of champions who were non-so-secretly working to undermine the guild's ideals (insert large set of champions here), and an administrator who by all accounts didn't do terribly much (Nessa), the guild was really looked down upon.

I'm not sure about now, but most people still look at the guild for what it was.

You know, Serenwilde could just break the pact. Glomdoring would never let go of thier precious rezz skill now.

Feel free to think that. It's not like we have a choice if Vira wants to send the spirits back! happy.gif
