You know, Serenwilde could just break the pact. Glomdoring would never let go of thier precious rezz skill now.
Good point.

Not really a good point- see my response.

They could, it really wouldn't be any different than any other agreement Serenwilde has made.

They could, yes-- but they can't say that there won't be any response. That's kind of ignoring facts.

(This is my perspective based on my experiences with them, they may have changed.)
Most of my complaints about the Hartstone aren't so much about their RP; it wasn't much when I was in the guild, but it seems to be growing steadily, which is good.
My problems have always been guild leadership. I watched us lose fighters left and right, until even our Champion wasn't really a figher. Nessa came up with a ton of ideas that usually amounted to "Here, I have an idea. You guys make it work." And god forbid you tried to oppose her on something. In my time in the guild, I believe I saw Niara on Prime a grand total of 2 times.
There were/are lots of great people in the guild. They just need to step up and lead.
Sorry, pet peeve.

Hmm...

You know you're hurting for fighters when you say "Hey, who wants to be temporary Champion so we can appoint security?"

Let me say it AGAIN. What pact? We didn't agree to anything we didn't already do.

I actually really wanted to make a new Hartstone fighter.. because I love the guild. I don't know why, but I fell in love with the idea that is behind Hartstone. And with Caedryn as GM and Gelo as GA, I thought there was a chance.. but I didn't check up on it for a while.. then I go to make my novice and poof, the guild leadership had completely flipped and Nessa was back.
And Nessa is a big part of my problem with Hartstone, as has been point edout, the death of that guild has been because of a constantly lacking leadership. But I've had two characters in the guild both above GR3, and it constantly broke my heart to see such huge potential flushed away.
Thank god for Blacktalon picking up the Druid slack.. its just too bad I much prefer White Hart over Crow
Edit: Oh, and I love the history that was revealed to the Serenguard, that they were established to keep and eye on Hartstone and make sure they didn't up again. With my dislike of the current Hartstone, I almost want to make a Serenguard and take it out on them ICly!

If something's wrong, fix it. Last time, you screwed over your chances because you were an arrogant megalomaniac noone wanted to vote for. You were also foaming at the mouth during the election - never a good sign that wins trust.

I only lost the first election by a single vote, because at that time Jairdan hadn't gone rabid yet It was Nessa's family members who tipped the scale on that one. A couple of them I had never even seen in my years in the guild showed up to vote.
The second one, I agree, I wanted Nessa dead

Ah, I only heard about the second one.

There should seriously be a 2 week period after returning from dormancy before you can vote. It's stupid how you can call up your friends and have them jump on and vote for you and then go dormant again.
I kept track of every gr3+ in Hartstone during my time as GM, and I'm pretty sure 20+ votes were cast in certain elections when my list of active voters only had 19 on it.

People told me that Nessa and Niara GFed friends to GR3 back when Hartstone first started, and when an election came up, they would contact these friends (who no longer play Lusternia) to get them to vote for them. Dunno if it's true or not, but that's the rumor.

That's what it seemed like. I mean.. it wasn't easy to get GR3 in Hartstone, because Nessa had a very Achaean mentality when it came to favours. Yet poof, out of no where a bunch of GR3's would appear and vote, not seen around in years, and not seen again afterwards until, ironically, the next election.

I'm rather sad that I didn't look into the matter more and start outguilding people.
Mirk2006-06-16 00:46:29
Please don't hurt me for what I'm posting...
And don't take it to seriously...
PLEASE NOTE THAT WHAT IS BELOW MAY OR MAY NOT BE TRUE, AND IS A RUMOR I'VE HEARD FLOATING AROUND THE GUILD.
Ok, now that I've gotten that out of the way, I've heard that people only voted for Nessa because they didn't want Kalodan to win the election, which if I remember correctly, he lost by one vote.
Personally, I think it may have been a little more interesting if he won, because as someone (either Kalodan or Jitwix), the guild is kind of stagnating, but oh well...
And once again, please don't take this to heart, it is, after all, just speculation...

Well, knowing Kalodan's player, and Kalodan's character, him getting GM would not have been a good thing.

Yes it would have. It would have been beautiful. Plenty of things would have happened, which is good for a guild in stasis.

Change, yes, but further alienation from the rest of the commune and enemy status, as a guild, to every other org in the Basin? No.
