Contrary to popular opinion, Hartstone isn't doing -that- badly. Sure, a lot of people want more of this or that, but regardless of what happens that will always be the case.

I really dislike people coming here to discuss rumours about a particular player or players, and how they are 'ruining' something. If you don't like the way Hartstone is being run, you are welcome to join and EVENTUALLY try to change things.

Personally, I'm tired of having the foundations of our ethos jerked around all the time (ala Glomdoring/Faethorn), and I'm quite glad that we haven't settled into a consistent, stable worldview like the Moondancers because of it. We've all seen the effect such alterations have had upon their players, and it doesn't seem fun at all.

Enough, this doesn't belong on the forums. Our private discussions inside the guild are meant to remain private discussions inside the guild.

If others want to know more, they can join and earn the right to do so.

What are you going to do? Disfavor him? tongue.gif

Haha, very funny...

I was kind of hasty in posting, and kind of forgot sometimes things, well, a little blown out of proportion on the forums, and had I left it, I would probably regret it later.

Either way, I'm going to stick with my thinking that Kalodan would be a decent GM, and would definatly make it more interesting...

That's fine, and I don't disagree with you. Just... there's nothing this line of discussion will accomplish in game. If we don't like a certain leader, we'll vote against them.

Tried that, didn't work.

I'd have loved to see Kalo as GM, just to see where it went. Probably would have ended badly, because he seems to be hideously bad at politics, but it would have shaken things up. I can definitely see why Nessa won, though, knowing people's opinion of him. Nessa didn't win that one, Kalodan lost it. Subtly different.

Moondancers -are- consistent and stable, but that's mainly because they bend whatever happens to suit their RP. I'd personally like to see a bit more flexability, but that might just be me. What I do not like, though, is how the Moondancers have lorded it over Serenwilde for the longest time. Or so it seems to me, at least.

Hmm. I'm rambling, so I'm gonna go back to bursting weevils.
Mirk2006-06-16 15:36:47
It may not have ended badly if he won, but until he does, we don't know what would happen if he does win.

I also wonder how the recent event would have turned out had he won the election...

No one has ever been forced to involve them self in faethorn that didn't want to, that was made abundantly clear when night swayed faethorn. If anyone wants to know the differences between Moondancer and Serenwilde laws you need only read the sacred leaves, which every novice is told to.

The only reason I could see that people would assume Moondancers ruled the serenwilde was that for the longest time the Heirophant and Great Chief were utterly inactive, which those two guilds realized and have now corrected. We've got a nice active council at the moment, and even if some of you don't agree with some of their views, it's infinitely better to at least -have- council input from all the guilds.

Moondancers have generally seemed to be the most powerful guild in the Wilde, to me at least.
Mirk2006-06-16 19:47:52
That's probably because of Narsrim...

Actually, that's not true.

Moondancers became the most powerful guild in the Commune because it was the only guild with strong leadership for a very long time.

Alyssanda and Niara were not at all the sort that were going to make their guilds stand out, whereas the Moondancers have Merloch and then Ibaesha during the same period. Merloch was very influencial, and Ibaesha was loved by the public, which she used to her advantage to be her manipulative private self. Not only that, but having been married to the Seneschal doesn't hurt either.

Her and Skyla were a very good team (when Skyla wasn't being a total censor.gif , at least) and no other guild had that. Its why the Moondancers had more than twice the members of any other guild for a very long time. Population also had a big effect on their apparent "power" in the Serenwilde.

Edit: As an aside, during my time, I actually got Ambassador without an application or anything because at the time there were so many Moondancers in the commune leadership that they wanted someone from another guild for the position.

Just an interesting factoid.

-nod-

It's been changing, but for the longest time, Serenwilde was the Moondancers with some odd Hart people running around, some of whom had swords. Faethorn conflict is mainly a Moondancer thing. Hartstone and Serenguard help out a ton, but fae + moon = Moondancers, so in the end it feels skewed.

I'm very glad to see an event with Hart, and Charune showing up; really helps to boost the Hartstone more into the public eye.

Eh? Mirk said he thought the Moondancers were considered the most powerful guild in Seren because of Narsrim. I was just pointing out the real reason.
Xenthos2006-06-17 00:14:32
My reason would be that the Moondancers were the most active for a LONG time, and had the most influence as a result of that (in general).
Shorlen2006-06-17 06:56:58
Moondancers were also Wiccans, a fun class to play. Many people who play demesne classes say they hate them, and warriors have always been, well, warriors. So, there were more Moondancers than other classes, which meant more activity, which meant more power.
Mirk2006-06-18 02:58:03
Um, I interpreted powerful meaning actual killing power...
Oops...
Diamondais2006-06-18 03:06:07
Before Glomdoring everything was perfect in the Moondancers. biggrin.gif

Then they stole some of our best people... sad.gif

Now theyre very equal for good people and absolute fun if you try.
