Now you can expect this skillset implemented roughly 2-3 years from now.

It still looks great. Nice work!

I figure it'd be like Druids wanting to fight in trees. Aeromancers don't so much toss you into the sky hoping you break your head as much as they simply want you in the air to fight there. I'd definitely require them to be flying to hit them with Bolt.
And who says they'll get Psionics? Nihilists get Hexes instead of Healing. Maybe Aero/Pyromancers will get something instead of Psionics.
Yeah that's what I was thinking with the whole flying thing, I figured Aeromancers would want them in the air the same way Aquamancers flood their demesne.
On one hand I'd be happy if the Pyro/Aeromancers get new skillsets to choose from, but on the other hand Psionics is one of my favorites.

Wow, this is really well thought out, I like it a lot.
PS: A roc? AWESOME.

Welcome to being a druid. Psionics is awesome, but we didn't get it.
And by we I mean me when I was a druid.

One biiiiig thing though, that I have been thinking about for the last fortnight now:
Loads 'n' loads of guilds have flight already, but not all of them have DIVE and BURROW, making Geos and Aquas more of less unique (except to groundhog and merians). Thing is, Aeromancers really should be the masters of the skies, but they are among many people who can infringe upon their domain, because they have flight, too. Basically, Airbourne won't be even remotely unique for Aeros.
We can't, within reason, not give Aeromancers flight. The only other thing I can think of...is...*puts up every defence in the book x12* ... Nerfing flight for the rest of 'em.
Sylphas2006-06-06 18:18:28
I'd at least nerf Guardian flight to Wiccan levels. Have their angels/demons carry them, and everything that knocks you off a mount knocks you out of their grip. They can still fly, they just can get knocked to the ground like us broomriders can.
Unknown2006-06-06 19:20:33
Nerfing flight is silly.
And don't forget that Trackers can dive.
Geomancers can't fight underground, and Aquamancers can't drag you under water. So their abilities don't really matter. The flight for Aeromancers is more like the ability to climb trees of Druids. Everyone can learn to climb trees. And Everyone can fly using Riding.
There's no difference.

Knew I must have missed something.
But still, almost everyone has flying, and...and...
Fine, I'm sinking into a "MINE!" sort of thing now, so I'll just shut up.
And pyromancy was posted ages ago, but it way WAY overpowered. Do a search.

I don't remeber any pyromancy that tried to stick to the format like this one did.
Tzekelkan2006-06-06 23:05:02
Nerf flying?!?
It's like, Aeromancy isn't even a skill yet, and there are complaints it's underpowered?
And no, don't nerf Guardian flight. I mean, come on... "Tzekelkan is here, riding his Divine Deva" doesn't sound right ... :/

That's why I added the ability for Aeromancers to have an extra resistance to being moved while flying. I guess if they wanted to institute ANOTHER level they could allow Aeromancers to do something like "soar" and go up higher in a room while they are flying.
I would do Pyromancy but I'm not really inspired to do it and Air is by far my favorite element. Not too mention I'm waiting patiently for Hallifax. Thanks to everyone who helped me refine the idea more and those who like it.
I'm still trying to think of something better for Blizzard besides having it give Chills, I've been toying around with the idea of having it slow movement but that might be a little much and kind of mimic Rubble. Maybe it could prevent people walking with one broken leg instead of having them hobble? However, it will still continue to do damage.

blizzard can cause blindness, and chills, and require people to have weathersight to see in the room.
Genos2006-06-07 00:53:13
I don't want to use Chills or Blindness because those are already used in other demesne skills for Geos and Aquas. Not too mention that last part would be a little much.
EDIT: I think I'll make it so Blizzard causes damage, stops people from walking if they have one broken leg, and also coats their skin with ice that prevents one salve application. So if you get hit with Blizzard the next salve you apply removes the ice and snow and then you can apply it again once you have salve balance to cure the affliction. This will allow some synergy with Twisters breaking a limb if they don't have levitation and also Rigormortis.

What about a skill that stops other flyers from flying in your demesne?
Genos2006-06-07 01:12:33
Hmm, I could add that to Cloudburst so it will have a chance to stop people from flying without being dragged up by whirlwinds, raise staff, and the roc.
