Well, yesterday at my time, of 8:07 PM I was walking in from my drive way, with only my socks on (already a bad idea) I am walking in and SMACK, my foot hits some thing, I fall down, look at my foot, and I have a four pronged iron rusty metal tool in it. I rip it out, run upstairs, throw my sock to the ground and go "oh son of a *bleep*" I go to the E.R. room, (Steven's hospital for all you washingtoners) and I have to wait in the frigin place for four (4) hours while I am twitching from nerve/muscle damage. I scared half my foot (It's the color of blue like the guys on the I'm blue daba di daba die musuic video or some thing like that), and I had to have it cleaned out 3 times, get a tetness shot, and still have a 43% chance of amputation of my right foot, which will TOTALLY screw over my diving scholarship.

Has any one else been screwed over by a garden tool?

You sound pretty calm..

I am on about three different meds. One to stop throbbing in my foot, one to stop pain in rest of body, and the third to try and stop bacterial from growing, they say the shot should HELP A LOT, but I dunno...
Shamarah2006-06-11 16:52:36
Ew, that sucks. Hope it gets better.
Soll2006-06-11 16:54:01
Sorry, what? You ripped it out, then ran upstairs? Ouch.

And, at exactly 8:07? blink.gif I mean, it's good that you concentrate, but.. Wow. Impressive time recollection.

43% chance for amputation?

Buut, not my place to judge these facts. Hope you get better soon, and don't need it cut off.

I remember the time because my brother carried me to my bed (clock next to it) saw it, and had to repeat what time it happened when the doctor said , "mmm... now what time was this?" , thanks for the caring guys, means a lot to know I have some people hoping I get better >.<
Tervic2006-06-11 18:22:49
totally unlike the ER where they made you wait for 4 hours with a twitchy impaled foot while they dealt with people who didn't know that a cough is not a deadly illness.... >.<

Hope you get better, and hope the tetnaus shot wasn't too evil either (I HATE tetnaus shots... they make my shoulder swell up sooo bad...)

And on the topic of getting messed up by random things, I still have a chunk of pencil graphite embedded a little over my right eye from where some kid raised his hand... with a freshly sharpened pencil tip pointing straight up. an inch lower and I'd not have a right eye at all.

Well, I ripped the mother ******* thing out of my foot before I ran up the stairs, then it just started to bleed a lot... A LOT.
Soll2006-06-11 18:58:54
I thought everyone knew that you never rip something out when it's in you. It's one of the only things that can stem the bleeding it causes. Well, just keep that in mind if anything ever happens again.

Get better soon.
Unknown2006-06-11 19:00:25
Well, I rip it out, because you are NOT supposed to keep a rusty piece of metal in you. I ran up stairs, onto my couch, my room is the other way. My brother then carried me from there, cause the pain started to kick in. (It would be hard to drive with a 4 foot pronged thingy in the care)

Garden hoes.

*step*
*conk*

Heh, not really. I tend to avoid yardwork.

Lucky you >.>

note to every one, always wear shoes while outside...

Reminds of a Dave Atell bit... "A lot of people say to me, 'Dave, you talk about gay people a lot in your show, you're probobly gay and don't even know it.' I am not gay. You want to know how I know that I'm not gay. One day I had terrible gardening accident..." Goes on to discuss having sat on a cucumber. Hilarious.

Yup. What?

It could be true. And you saying it's not might make him post a picture... which I'll bet everyone can agree they don't really want to see.
Daganev2006-06-11 20:20:23
I don't think anyone other than a trained soldier or a doctor would have the presence of mind to NOT take something out of thier foot...

I've done soem crazy things when bad stuff happens before.

I know I wouldn't really run anywhere if I had a hole in my foot gushing blood. :/
Daganev2006-06-11 20:37:22
I don't think you know what you would do if something terribly wrong suddenly happened.

So you'd sit there until you bled out? I'd personally hobble/run to get myself some help, exactly as he did.
Unknown2006-06-11 20:43:51
Well, I could post a picture of one of the holes they sealed with this weird glue stuff.... three of my toes are blue, and I ripped it out because I wasn't going to run up the stairs with a metal gardne rake inside my foot, it started bleeding when I set it up. Then I bled all over the carpet and my mom wacked me, and one of my brothers laughed... and so on...
