Goth branched off from punk, new wave, and metal scenes of 70s/early 80s. The initial "goth" bands were all post-punk, essentially. It just got more and more stylised from there and polluted by other cultures (i.e. Emo and angsty little kids who think they're "goths").
So... yeah

the original goth punk scene. Some great music.

Bauhaus
And Joy Division, and Siouxsie & the Banshees.

I still like Gothic archways best. Screw you, Baroque!
Hazar2006-09-05 22:20:28
Bah. Gothic architecture was all like 'Well, lets make the peasants haul around even more rocks so it takes 100 years to build this cathedral instead of 80'. Baroque was like 'Wait, let's try putting actual effort into the appearance of the cathedral.'

Haha, my friend gave me a lot of music by them.
I have yet to listen to it...

I have two orders of business regarding the Ebonguard. First and foremost, the Ebonguard maintains that it's merely trying to make this world a better place in which to live. Perhaps it would be best for it to awaken from its delusional narcoleptic fantasyland and observe that if it were paying attention -- which it would seem it is not, as I've already gone over this -- it'd see that it's easy to tell if it's lying. If its lips are moving, it's lying. It has long been obvious to attentive observers that the Ebonguard's maneuvers must not go unchallenged. But did you know that before I knew anything about it, I was once an onlooker at a few of the Ebonguard's mass demonstrations, without possessing even the slightest insight into the mentality of its forces or the nature of its circulars? The Ebonguard doesn't want you to know that because its sound bites reflect a duplicitous bias that will sentence more and more people to poverty, prison, and early death by next weekend. So don't feed me any phony baloney about how 75 million years ago, a Soulless named Xenu solved the overpopulation problem of his 76-planet federation by transporting the excess people to Lusternia, chaining them to volcanoes, and dropping Kethuru on them. That's just not true.
The Ebonguard sometimes uses the word "schizosaccharomycetaceae" when describing its quips. Beware! This is a buzzword designed for emotional response. The Ebonguard believes that we should abandon the institutionalized and revered concept of warfare. That's just wrong. It further believes that anyone who disagrees with it is ultimately noisome. Wrong again! Finally, to those of you who are faithfully helping me give war a chance, let me extend, as always, my deepest gratitude and my most affectionate regards.

I hate that money doesn't grow on trees.
But I love that the season premier of House comes on tonight!!!
I hate that I can't see what I type in telnet, so the last few days I've only been able to pop in and read messages and news posts basicly cause I was on my sister's computer and she doesn't have Java and forbade me to download anything onto her computer and so I was stuck on telnet and making so many typos it wasn't funny.
But I love that I'm back on my lovely Broadband connection and so tonight after House is over and I run a few errands, I'm gonna plaaaaaaaaaaay!
I hate that I can't pay to have my cable turned on at my new apartment until the 15th and I'm not getting a land-line so I'm going to sans internet for 9 days!
But I love that I will be moving into my new apartment tomorrow and enjoying a distinct lack of roommates!

Good luck with the new apartment. Too bad no internet for a little bit though.

I hate neopets at the moment.
Vix2006-09-06 02:29:17
I hate how it's so easy to take advantage of stand triggers when you beckon twice. I had to delete that trigger while being beseiged which annoyed me later while bashing. Stupid Nexus not telling the difference. *kick*
Sylphas2006-09-06 05:24:41
Easy fix: don't stand unless you've given a command that would be stopped by being prone.

I hate how I still have this gigantic spider trapped within this plastic container, but I can't do anything with it and it just stares and me all the time and freaks me out. I also hate how I can't even open the top to do anything, as Jasper ( Yes, I've named it in honor of the Former Prince of Shadows ) leaps at my hands everytime I try to do so. He knows I put him there, and he's just biding his time until he can escape and devour me in my sleep.

You trapped a spider in a bottle? Its a wonder it haven't died of suffocation yet.
Yes, it will probably crawl up onn your pants while you sleep and bite you in your nether region. Revenge is sweet.

Jasper has air-holes! It's just hard to feed him properly when I can't open the top more than a crack due to the rabid-leaping
