Sucks being half asleep RL, character collapsing from exhaustion and being told to hold a meld. So while Im melding, character drops right near the Aetherdock and Celest raids. What a nice wake up.

I enjoy the war for parts of it. I like relatively even battles, where both sides have a chance.
Then there are times when I'm the only one who can fight in game from serenwilde, looking at Malicia, Vesar, Armand, Narsrim, Saraxus, Kurama, etc.
So for those I log off and go play achaea, because while it is kinda sucky, at least it's fun.
Edit: And I would like to, briefly, apologise to all those gloms I screwed over in the past with the policies Serenwilde took regarding them. I understand that they were extremely harsh, even though ICly justified.

You have to understand that this is one of the most glaring issues I felt at the time. On an OOC level, many of Serenwilde's leaders seemed in agreement that they were going too far... but on an IC level, it was "justified," so nothing changed.
I'm of the belief that things to this extent are NOT justified in-game-- it doesn't really matter WHAT your character thinks, at the end of the day the people playing this game are... all real people, playing a game. There's no reason whatsoever NOT to have a little bit of compassion laced into your character, through their teachings and environment... not the compassion that says, "Ohh, I love you all, I cannot kill you!," but perhaps, "Well, I've hurt them enough for this day. Haha, poor fools! I bet they're all crying their hearts out!" and go about your own personal business. Nor does it have to be exactly that, there are a LOT of ways to meld this into your character's persona without violating IC/OOC boundaries, in my opinion.
As to Celest's actions... I have to admit I really have mixed feelings about them. The fact that they're so frequent IS an issue to me, but... given that Serenwilde and it's leaders condoned such behaviour for so long, it's really difficult to feel any kind of pity or desire to speak up on your behalf. Am I bitter, OOCly, about Serenwilde's actions? You bet I am. And that is because I feel those actions went far above and beyond what was called for on an OOC level AND an IC level.

I'm sharing the same mixed emotions. On both the IC and OOC levels, Serenwilde kind of had it coming, but it still sucks, because it's really really unfun.
Unknown2006-09-09 18:47:42
My emotions about this are clear. It's lame, and people who do that act like some chavs, strong only in a group and raiding only when there's 2x the raiders than people in the place they're raiding.
This is how it is with New Celest now, and how it used to be with Serenwilde before, and Magnagora before that. I just realised that Lusternia is full of such griefing. When I raided, I had a damn good objective and didn't attack people who came to defend, but rather run to avoid them. Hell, I even told them that it was nothing personal. But such people are far and between (most of them are surprisingly in Magnagora), other PvPers are only griefers.
I find myself disgusted with my sudden discovery and I hardly feel like going back into Lusternia, after all.

Alodia apologised to Synl once for killing him during a village revolt. Who cares about dying to players like that?
I hate that whenever my alt is defending Etherwilde, one of two things happens:
1. There are more Celestians than Serenwilders, so we sit at the Moonhart doing absolutely nothing...until the Celestians either get bored and leave, or finish what they came to do.
2. There are more Serenwilders than Celestians, so we end up rushing them. While I love combat, and even group combat, I hate that with such ridiculously large groups my computer lags, there's a rush of text, and I realize I've died a minute after the event.

I hate that it takes having to experience misery to recognize an issue. I hate apologies that come too late to matter. Sure I appreciate that the point is finally sunken in, but "I'm sorry" doesn't change all the suckiness.
Nico2006-09-09 19:37:25
Oh, I'd love to raid Etherwilde with just a few others, but it's not feasible without a cubix. Ladies are too strong, can't meld, can easily get flowed to. No cubix means no easy entrance/exit. And by easy, I mean instant in a fix, not the couple seconds for tesseract to prime. Raiding etherwilde just doesn't work with small numbers, so you end up with the big swarms.
Of course, on faethorn we often have far less people than Serenwilde, and still no attack, but you never hear about that, oh no.
As to the order enemy'ing, most of that was in retaliation to members of Charune's order destroying Terentian shrines that had no sanctified rooms attached. Your order destroys our shrines, we enemy your order. Oh, and since wrath actually helps now, that too.
If you want to, go ahead and come for us to -earn- that enemy status. My alt did after he was enemied to Serenwilde for no reason. He got even by killing Shorlen and Nejii.

Oh, how'd I'd prefer to be stomping Mag instead, but Serenwilde just HAD to get all uppity and stuff.
Tsuki2006-09-09 21:22:27
I wish Ladies were that strong ... but they're pretty much all gone now, think we had about 20, killed during gibbous nonetheless, so I have my doubts.
Serenwilde's gotten events that have hammered it into us that Faethorn isn't our territory. Of course we'll still work to protect it, but Celest has Glom watching them to make sure they don't take Fae ... and that's 95% of our concern. The other 5% is being able to wander Faethorn and find Fae to bring in to the Avatars ourselves, but that can wait until Celestians have gotten bored again and left, really. And if the Avatars are down, then that 5% is a moot point anyway. (And if there are going to be complaints for enemying because of being in Faethorn ... there's certainly as much reason for doing so as the cities have for enemying those on Water/Earth. )
Order enemying ... y'might want to actually verify who's in an Order if you decide to enemy members of the Order. I'm more inclined to believe it's because y'all want to use shrine powers against us, myself.
And everyone who was precautionarily enemied to the Serenwilde was sent a message about it. What you decided to do from there was up to you, but we gave you the option of getting a free pardon. Even bothered to make and keep a list of everyone who was precautionarily enemied like that so we'd know, though once you raid you're forfeiting that option. I can think of a few Celestians, though, who haven't.
It was pretty sad that Celestians died more times to Gorgulu than they died to all the Avatars and Ladies combined. And I don't think they even managed to kill him ...?
Towards Glom: Yes, you got raided regularly by Narsrim and Narsrim and Munsia. Looking at the big picture, though, where did that bring you? Every time there's mention of Glomdoring atmosphere on the forums, Glomdoring players extol the virtues and wonderfulness of their close-knit community with a strong sense of self and focused interests and goals and high morale.
I'm still not sure that "Narsrim" and "Narsrim and Munsia" raids are the same as "Acrune, Shamarah, Mazeb, Kurama, Malicia, Silimaur, Vesar, Narsrim, Amaru, etc" raids, but that's fine. What doesn't make us quit the game makes us stronger. And if we quit the game, then we don't have the irritation and our irritants don't have anyone to play with.

I wasn't on the Gorgulu raid so I don't know how many times they died, but our group got wiped minus 1-3 people quite a few times (I think 2 times against Selene+Luna, 2 times against Albion+Luna, and once against Albion alone).
And Ladies are very strong. Stronger than angels/demons for sure. Also some of them web, paralyse, blackout, etc.
Narsrim2006-09-09 21:30:44
I died -far- more times to Selene/Luna than I did to Gorgulu. In fact, I died like 6 times and we just kept coming back and killing. Don't spread propaganda Tsuki.
We also had 5 more people for the Avatars than the Demon Lords.
