Ask one of the Hartstone in game about Grutina Oakvine. It's a pretty nifty story.

Cliff notes:

You know those spirits that Seren sended to Glom and Glom gave back and so on? Those are the dark spirits of the rogue druids of Serenwilde. They created a "civil" war and there were lots of deaths, hanged people and stuff.. in the end Serenwilde won and the rogues died. Seren celebrated this by the creation of the Serenguard Lodge who's purpose was to protect the Serenwilde from things like this if they ever happen again...

so yeah, Serenguard's a f'ing state police, yet some people act otherwise

I wish the spirits actually did something, though. It's a nifty skill, but... I've got a spirit BONDED with me, and as far as I can tell... all it wants is to experience life through me, to the point that it will defend me in order to not lose its tenuous grip to a fleshy existance.

No spirits to actually really talk to, no idea where they are in the forest, whether they're just floating around until we call them for an egg... what? Is there anything more to them now? They lost their rich history? (Of which I know nothing about ICly, and I doubt I'm going to find out from a Hartstone for multiple reasons... )

Because deep down, they don't like you, because you're a POSER FAIRY. Maybe if you were a furrikin or something...

Can Xenthos kick as, tho? if so, it's a poser fairy, but a badass one

Like I keep saying... you should steal Hartstone's secrets!

Maybe you'll even find out what the Secret is - so deep that we don't even know it!

The Seren had nothing to do with the creation of the Serenguard. The Centaur called the warriors and created the guild. And we have long ago accepted that our duty to keep watch over the Hartstone has fallen far into second place, if any place, behind our duty to protect the Seren from everything else.

Because everybody knows the Centaurs were not a part of the Serenwilde, but instead emissaries of the Gloriana.

Thus, the Glomdoring has a foothold in the Serenwilde, in the form of an entire guild. Fear us!

Let the Serenguard slaughter begin!

I'd sure feel confident if MY plant in an enemy organisation was a refugee who only ended up there because he fled from my country!

I've never heard anything more laughable . Emissaries don't flee a dying Forest, they flee because they're the only smart ones in it .

Though the Centaur did, when Grutina Oakvine was finally slain, just keep slaughtering druids...

I didn't meant that they had to watch over Hartstone, what I meant was that they should never happen something like a civil war or something like that

And here I thought that the Seren also helped with the Lodge

And we built them a pretty new statue and everything! That's gratitude for you.

And I thought they were ok. Sounds like Serenwilde needs an ethnic cleansing! Evil centaurs (and four-legged gods) beware!

It was post-taint. Grutina went mad studying the taint left in old Gloriana.
