Ayone bothered with testing it and see exacly what is true and what not?
I didnt noticed herbs to die in my demesne.
That wither and die in a Mancer's demense. That much we know for sure. As always, nobody's quite sure of the IC reasoning. I think Guido's sounds cooler though

No, the effect is not in dispute. You can just use any explanation you like.
Ekard2006-09-21 09:53:02
I will test my demesne and herbs and will post results.

Let's call on the Mythbusters to perform this Myth and see if it's true, plausible or busted

I already set demesne and watching herbs grow.
So far it grows normal like outside of demesne.
I will be Lusty Mythbuster

It's either the initial flooding that causes them to wither, or the initial melding, from what I understand. I'm not an aquamancer though. Go to a forested room, check PLANTS, then flood, then check PLANTS, then meld, then check PLANTS, and post the results here?

If there's something strange, in your neighborhood, who you gonna call? MYTHBUSTERS!
If there's some odd story, that you don't believe, who you gonna call? MYTHBUSTERS!
I ain't afraid of no explosions

a myth exposed?

Yes, I'm obsessed with Mythbusters
first person to tell me that doesn't work with Ghostbusters gets hit.

Best show on Television for educational purposes, comedic value, and just having things that go is the Mythbusters. I watch it every chance I can.

the Mega Movie Magic episode was good. I love it when they play with Giant RC cars.
I think one of my favorite eps was when they were trying to get past the security devices, and a xerox copy of a fingerprint got them passed a supposedly unbeaten fingerprint scanner, and an ordinary sheet got them past the motion sensor. Just cause that was good information to pocket away

One of my favorite Mythbusters was the one where they tested if talking to and playing music for plants made them grow better.
I thought it was funny when their plants exposed to heavy metal did the best of all.

It doesn't work like that.
Lusti herbs get checked X number of times a Lusti day, the checks are either positive of negative depending on if they are growthed, in hibernation, in peak, gaurded, demensed, ect.
So, if you demense an area that's gaurded, you won't see a noticeable decrease in herbs until the guard wears out (around 20-32 hours depending on skill in wicca/druidry of the caster)
Also, if you demense an area that is in peak, and growthed, you'll be getting positive growth as well as dieing off, sort of cancels each other out.
The problem is that demenses stay around for longer then areas stay peaked (1 day) growthed (takes effort, and is only a few hours) or guarded (which takes power and effort, and is only around a day and a half)
So, in short, mage demenses are harmful to herbs, and you might not see it instantly. You can't even check if it's guarded unless you are a non-nature herbalist, or someone who can cast guard yourself; in other words, people who aren't mages themselves.

Ooooooh, one thing I also like is when they show about the Cellphone Myth where it said calling while refilling your car in a gas station causes fire. Now that they have it busted, I don't care if those guys in the gas station tells us to shut down our CPs while refilling
And probably the best episodes I've watched is when they are testing the "Floating the boat with golf balls", "Son of a Gun", "Benjamin Franklin", "Goldfish Memories" and the lethal, "Bug Spray Explosions".

Can I rant, too?
I just figured out how to lead pilgrims. I walked the entire highway, from Avechna to Magnagora, and had gathered about... Six or seven pilgrims, when this bloated snake bit me, and now I've had to pray, I've lost a level, and all my pilgrims. Grr!
