Tip: Have them answer in tells, not on GNT. That way each novice can get credit for answering the same question.
I do have them answer in Tells... But the first one who send the Tell wins the point.
Unknown2006-09-29 04:31:30
or! give three points to the first two points to the second and one point to the others-that way it'll keep the scores a bit tighter if one person doesn't keep answering first

That's a bad way to run a quiz. Everyone who knows the answer should get credit, otherwise it becomes about typing speed, and novices will start to feel that there is no point if they happen to be a little slower at the typing portion.

Because the Sea of Despair only has one sentient creature in it, Emperor Ladantine, whereas the Inner Sea is home to a whole community of kelpies? Because Magnagora teaches brutal dominance and harshness whereas Celest teaches honour and virtue? It's not like claiming an area 'belongs' to you changes anything; Celest could just as easily say, "The Inner Sea belong to no one, or to the kelpies, but we defend it because it's the right thing to do". Fits your RP and doesn't alter the way you play the game at all, because you're still defending them. Everyone wins.
Or you could go the, "We're right and everyone is wrong, rahrah light" path and claim it, whatever. Just don't make up a story about how the Kelpies love being owned by you.
I did not make up a story of how the Kelpies love being owned by Celest. I suggest you take the time to read what I have written, before you make your comments. If you did that, your comments may actually be more on the mark.
I remember on these very same boards a lot of people, you included, wished that Celest acted more like the Spanish Inquisition instead of the traditional good city. Now that Celest is doing that very thing, you are trying to tell Celest that it does not fit its role-play? Well just like many of the people did not like Magnagora being labeled as stereotypical evil, Celest is not going to be labeled stereotypical good. Some of you wanted the Inquisition; well you now have it. And, that inquisition will protect its interests and stomp out the unbelievers.

Still rewards faster typers and not necessarily the most knowledgeable.
If NoviceA answers 2 out of 5 first, then he has 6 points.
Novice B answers 3 out of 5 in second place, then he has 6 points.
Novice C is the only person to answer all 5, but gets third each time by a split second, and only has 5 points, and loses, even though they were clearly the most knowledgeable.

It's ok Noola, you just need practice to perfect your quizes. That's all. If you need any help with quizes or anything at all you can PM and I can help you out. Even tho, I've never done this sort of thing. I might be of some use.

No, but you could have spoken up once before. You could have spoke up when your own commune was constantly attacking Glom citizens that were in Faethorn. You did none of that. So yes, I am not inclined to believe something when the history shows me something different.
History or make believe? You didn't see me speaking up when Serenwilde stomped on Glom because that happened when I was taking a year long break from the game. A real life year. I wasn't here. So no, there is no history in that regard.
QUOTE
You are trying to use semantics to differentiate what your own commune does in Faethorn and what Celest does on the Inner Sea. Like I have written before, I do not remember you ever standing up and stating that the Serenwilde should not seek to Annex Faethorn. I do consider a demesne that covers all of Faethorn as Annexing it. So what you guys do in Faethorn is not any different than what Celest does in the Inner Sea.
Actually I didn't say anything about Faethorn at all. Don't put words in my mouth. You say that you've never seen me stating that Serenwilde shouldn't annex Faethorn. You must either be completely ignoring what I'm writing or, as is most probable, reading what I write with a predetermination to judge my stance as biased for the Serenwilde and against everyone else to such an extreme that I can't possibly have any other opinion.

No, your answer implied there was a difference when I stated that you guys do the same thing with Faethorn. I made a statement that you guys are doing it in Faethorn too. You turn around and state that there is a difference between protecting your interests and annexing an area as a direct response to my statement. Then I took that as an implication that you consider what the Serenwilde is doing in Faethorn is different than what we are doing in the Inner Sea. Your statement implied that the Serenwilde is only protecting its interest, not annexing Faethorn. So I then made my statement in response.
If you were gone a whole year and not able to comment then, well I apologize. Still, you guys are performing the same actions in the Faethorn now, which Celest does in the Inner Sea. You have a chance to comment on it now directly, not in an off-handed manner after admonishing Celest for doing the same thing.
QUOTE
I don't really have any vested interest in the situation and I'll likely to forget this topic exists after I post here but I wanted to mention something. Lusternia itself is sort of geared towards making everyone actively involved for their chosen side. If you sign up as a geomancer, serenguard, celestine or blacktalon you really can't say you're truly innocent because by joining one of those groups you've taken a very very defined position in relation to the rest of the world. A Glomdoring Shadowcaster on Faethorn will never truly be able to claim innocence and purity of purpose simply because of what the Shadowdancers represent and by being a member of that group you publicly cast your support for their ideals. It would be like me as an American going to... oh hell just about any place in the middle east area and then getting upset when people get angry or worse with me simply for being American. The key is context. When viewed alone, situations like these are really unjust, but if you look at the history behind it all the logic can be quite easily traced.
I found this quote from you justifying the actions of Kalodan when he killed a young glom shadowcaster faeling on Faethorn. His only excuse for doing it was that he could smell honeycakes on the faeling. Seems to me that such an action was fine by you back then, when it was your own doing it. Like I said before, I am not inclined to believe when the history shows me something different. Oh, and that was during the time period when Serenwilde openly Annexed Faethorn and aggressively engaged anyone they deemed was not suppose to be there.
