I hate it that when I ask a question on GNT for the geomancers, there are no people around but retards and dimwits that can't answer a simple question!!!
I also hate being enemied to Celest. I don't know why I haven't been unenemied to them?? All I want to do is walk around that beautiful city and kill dreamweavers and that NPC's that helps with that sand quest they do!!! C'mon let me in!!!!

Ahem.
Okay, almost every single one.
Fallen has a point. I guess people just feel the need to continue being in an order with all their friends, and it isn't a total 180 in terms of beliefs. I also get the impression that just about anyone who was important in Serenwilde was in Lisaera's order, for the most part, and so they needed to continue being chummy with the patron - every org does it, after all, only a couple Mags of any note are non-Fain.
Sylphas2006-06-26 20:59:30
Most of them. Maybe that's why She never helped me with anything for the Hartstone, I didn't kiss enough ass.
Vix2006-06-26 21:04:37
There's more than one way to hunt other than killing. Don't classify him as being Lupus.
Unknown2006-06-26 21:04:58
And I know that Charune isn't Lupus.. but come on. He wields a Hunter's Horn, his symbol is a hunt, and his opening event is a massive hunt.
I'd say he is most definitely a God of the Hunt (not embodying it, but patroning it) and its just silly to have an Order like that to be filled with a bunch of mystics, bookworms, and pacifists.

Oh? Name such a pacifist. You're just being picky if a god's membership bothers you.

Anyone formerly in Elcyrion's Order
Ialie2006-06-26 21:13:09
I never said I was a pacifist

Alright, granted Jasper was in Elcyrion's Order - I still do not see your point. Jasper has been more fashioned by Lisaera and Viravain before Elcyrion, and even then Jasper didn't really care for Elcyrion's no killing sentients plan.

It seems that you are just placing misconceptions of what the Hunt is. Charune has said himself that the Hunt isn't merely a physical thing, that it is about fulfilling one's ambitions and desires through inventive ways. Personally, he somewhat looks more like a God of Problem-Solving.
And while the his Order isn't filled with protectors, security members, Champions, and Murphy-esque fighters, it does not mean that the environment is anywhere near enriching. Does any other Order have a specific requirement where those who wish to join have to literally track down and hunt an Order member? Nope - I don't think so.

He never stopped us from killing sentients who were attacking us. We could do what we wanted to protect ourselves.
Sylphas2006-06-26 21:18:18
I got gypped out of a hunt. I should chase down Nejii at some point, he's a slippery bastard.

Then I'd consider you a poor choice for an Elcyrion Order Member, at least by what I think it should mean to be in an Order beyond the outter circle.

Cause, ya know "All we can do is settle our differences and give the spirits to Glomdoring" is definitely creative I'd say that was the least inventive option. Inventive would have been Lisaera and him creating a forest aetherbubble upon which to deposit the dark spirits.
I know the Hunt has meaning beyond the physical, but I just think that should be the main facet of an order whose Divine has that as the main facet of Himself. And if you are deep within a God's Order, you should uphold more than just a single aspect of their teachings.
And I won't even get in to what I think about Order hoppers.

Nope. You took an oath saying you were.
Ialie2006-06-26 21:39:29
Wasn't really in Lisaera's order but its not really fair to say they jumped ship when she disbanded the order.
And what oath? I never gave an oath. Elcyrion wasn't completely about pacifism. He understood violence was needed at times although he considered those times to be very very very very few.
EDIT: OOOH THe walker thing. nevermind.

I wasn't in the Order Proper, I was in the Outer Circle. I am perfectly fine that I wasn't a good choice for an Order member. I didn't join in the name of peace.

Again, it isn't our fault that the event went that way. The members of Serenwilde had various different plans, but the event was fit to show Charune's principles of sacrifice and duty.

And not to be rude to Verithrax, but aren't you acting a lot like him when you were groaning and moaning about him and the lucidian body structure? Declaring your own assumptions of roleplay? Yes, I won't get into that - you don't get into Order hoppers.

You ditched Lacostian for Elcyrion for Lisaera for Charune.
Come on.
You can't even try to act innocent here.
And devotion to a God (which is what being in an Order is about) should go far beyond the mechanics.

Am I saying they can't do it? Not at all. But I can say I think its silly. I think its very poor form, because you're devoting yourself to a God, for Gods' sakes.
I'm not telling anyone they have to do anything, or that anything is impossible, however, I don't have to applaud people for jumping ship likes rats off the titanic.

Um... I wasn't trying to act innocent. I was speaking for Lisaerans... when did this become suddenly about me?
but if you want to play.... Didn't you just bitch out verithrax for declaring rules of role play? Here you are doing the same thing?
Also.... this stuff about order hoping and changing perspectives is easy for you to say. WHen you get bored of a character or generate enough hate you just switch characters. I may switch orders but I am always Ialie. How many alts have you generated? None of your characters have been around as long as I have. If my character wants to change religions that is up to her.
Leave me alone.

I'm not dictating anything. I'm simply saying that I personally find it annoying. Am I trying to stop anyone from doing what they want? Not at all. Verithrax was trying to demand that it not be allowed. There's a very distinct difference.
As for my character changing, my only major characters have been Furloch, Corbett, and Jairdan.
Furloch got switched from because people were taking their IC hatred OOCly, and I wasn't going to play that way. Corbett got left so that I could make a character to play with Ibaesha, and that character was Jairdan, who I played up until the point where things had to stop for reasons that you know nothing about.
Verithrax2006-06-26 21:52:04
I never dictated rules. I only argued about what is and what isn't plausible inside Lusternia, and if you're going to argue against creating plausible characters that are coherent with the game world, please report to reeducation and reprogramming centre H.
