No, the problem is that he forgot what he did with it, he should have remembered clearly that he lend it to his friend, what was worse is that he didn't even apologize to me for what he said.
Harden up. I used to get beat with a belt, not just the leather end, the big ass buckle too..... sure I stole my dad's rifle and truck and went out shooting at things in the woods. But I didn't complain..... I had to take it....

That's illegal where I live. Actually, I'm mandated to report anyone who does that or I can be fined a lot of money. Heh.

Yeah well it never was that illegal, but I tell you this much. It got the message across. DO NOT GET CAUGHT!
I do remember getting out of a lot of trouble when I was really little with the greatest phrase in the universe.
"Please mommy, no! Please don't beat me like you do at home."
That phrase saved me alot of times when out in public and embarressed my mom so much, that it was worth the trouble I got in later.... Hah! I loved it.... (She never beat me at home, she chased me with a wooden spoon, but never got a beating beating from her.... )

Heh that's hilarious. My little brother said stuff like that too when he was younger, mum got so mad. I don't think my parents ever hit me hard enough to hurt me but if I didn't at least pretend that it hurt they would hit me again a little harder.

TV lag is the worst. I hate it when I'm into a good show or movie, and suddenly the signal gets all pixelated and messed up.
Edit - Wait a second, when did you start watching TV?

Umm. A few months back when I got a TV. Not that I watch too much, I mainly got it so I could have a PS2.

We took him to the vet after that, but hey, can't let him have all the fun right?
You have to be careful with ticks. You may pull the body off with the tweezers, but the head could remain in the skin and burrow in. The head is what you need to worry about because it carries all sorts of infections and diseases like lyme disease. The body is nothing but a swollen mass of blood.
Narses2007-01-28 23:26:21
I am a student in a course towards becoming a vet-aide, hopefully a full vet at some point.
At any rate, you can use alchohol on the ticks and they should be easy to remove afterwards. The best treatment is simply buying a collar against ticks- there are such things, very effective. Or get a spray/powder and allow them to fall off. Viravain's right, the head of the tick may remain and leave an ugly scar, not to mention that it leaves a wound open which might get infected.

Yick, I had a tick in my head (well, scalp I guess) once and my mom had to dig it out, that was really unpleasant.

Ugh, I forgot this month to March in our area is tick breeding season...
Our new puppy, a dutchhound, got infected with lots (I do mean lots of them.) of ticks, embedded in his ears, outside the ears, between the claws and in the 'palm' of his paws (yep all four of them). Around his neck, his 'armpits', stomach, near his eyes, I mean, WTF. 2 days and he's already helluva infected with them.
So I nearly puked trying to pull them out with my fingers (not to mention some of them crawling around my arms), luckily, I manage to find a tweezer and made my job more easier. What really satisfied me after this is that I place them on a tissue paper, wrapped it all up, add in old newspaper and wrap on it then set it on fire!!! BURN BABY BURN!!!
Ahh, I love the sound of popping ticks and smell of burning paper in the morning.

You really should've taken the ticks to vector control or the vet's where they could test them for diseases and stuff like that. The best way to do it is to put the ticks in a ziploc with a moist cotton ball. No matter how satisfying it may be to burn the little buggers, it's probably about the worst thing you could do other than leave them in.
Also, for getting embedded ones off, a couple drops of cooking oil works pretty well, and so does poking them with the tip of a needle that's been held in a candle flame. No guarantees on results if you miss though

QFT, aside from the name of the disease .
Lysandus2007-01-29 02:56:56
Well, the vets did a thorough check up on the dog and all is good, took out the heads, add something to keep the ticks away for awhile and there, everyone's happy, the Vet got paid, I burn some ticks and the dog is tick free.

I hate that my office had this big meeting on Friday to outline all our goals and proiorities for the week and today, I was actually gung-ho and ready to work and thinking about all the things I had to do and then this morning he tells us that nothing is more important than 'cleaning our messes' and takes us on a walking tour of the office to decide what rooms need straightening the most and who's gonna do them.
I LIKE my desk messy. I don't work well in sterile, organized neatness. I mean, yeah, some of the left-over clutter from when we moved to the new office needs handling, but not during business hours and not when on Friday we were all given tasks and deadlines that were deemed mandatory that can actually make us some money - but are now considered secondary to freakin cleaning.
And for the record, I did NOT appreciate the "Children need organization" analogy to the situation because I am not the one who can't stick to a priority list.
Now I'm all annoyed and all that gung-ho energy I felt this morning has turned into 'Meh.'

And Jitwix needs to come back, he has something I was told to get but...

Keep in mind how long I went inactive for, too. Like 150-200 days or something? There's always hope!
