My Xbox disc tray stopped opening unless you severely and repeatedly punched it. Then I sold it and got a PS2... and saved up all my money to buy almost all the Final Fantasy games!

As a side note, the bursar at my university makes me extremely angry because they are lame-o's. And I can't afford college.

What country are you in? I thought they were the same in America, and college'd be cheaper over in England since you'd probably have to be young enough to still be in govt. funded education to go there...

Bursar: That's not the point.
Me: Accept my damn scholarship money.
Bursar: You're a day overdue on your payments, we're going to have to put a hold on your account.

So it absolutely has to be replaced? I don't want to end up buying a third playstation...

I called the place I got the machine from...they said that it happens after a couple years, and I either have to send it to Sony to repair it (100+$ with shipping) or buy a new one. Luckily the price on new ones have dramatically dropped since the last time I bought one...(129$). But this sucks. My SNES that I've had for over a decade still works, damnit .

I've had my PS2 for, uh, around 4 years or so and it still works great, I just have issues sometimes with PS games (which I always had anyways). So, I guess I'm lucky!

Its a scam by Sony, now that the PS3 is out, all the PS2s are going to start failing due to a intended expiration date of sorts on various important parts of the console.

Eh, I've only once had a problem with my PS2 and it's never ever come up again. Hellboy just apparently did not like it.

I'm on my third PS2, but I use it a lot more then most people do. Like to run movies while I sleep... simply cause I can't sleep unless there's constant noise. Wierd, I know :/
