I have been unable to log on to...anything but these forums...for almost a week now.

It's tech week for the Crucible - for non-drama people, that means we're in full costume runs right after school, there till 7, constant stress - and the director still wants me to work on my gesturing. I have a six-page paper's rough draft due on friday and I don't have all my research done. I have tests in english, chemistry, and american history, and a practice AP exam on sunday. I have not had a free day since the sunday before last, and have had no free time for four.

Gah.

I was the main character guy from the Crucible when I was a junior in high school...

I failed my final composition paper and need to revise it. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

When misinformation is passed down and somehow you end up having 3 mid terms paper, 5 assignments and 1 project all due the next week and you are only informed on Friday ... and then working to death through the weekend and finding out on monday that only 1 mid term paper, and 2 assignments are due....

Ahh, I know how you feel. I had a theorum paper due in Death and Grieving that was supposed to be turned in alongside the midterm, a couple of thought analysis essays and a book report. The day specified came and went with my professor saying, "Oh, well, I decided that the work load was just too much! It isn't due until three classes from now. Happy vacation!"


We're in college, guys. The work load is NOT too intense if there's a deadline!

Final Fantasy Advent Children.


It sucked so bad. I was soo excited to see it. "Yay! A movie about Final Fantasy VII!" It has to be awesome. It won't suck like Finaly Fantasy The Spirit Within did by having nothing to do at all with final fantasy except having a character name cid, and a girl wearing a vague image of a chocobo on her shirt FINAL FANTASY VII will be cool, it will have Cloud and RedXIII I saw him in the ad. WOot!"

Sadly though I was horribly mistaken. RedXIII had maybe five seconds of dialogue and I am 90% sure that the two lines he did speak at different times in the movie were done by different actors. His first line, he sound like some sort of L.A S8er boy and the line near the end of the movie he sound like James Earl Jones. Cait Sith was a horrible disappointment too, I don't remember if he had a line or not, if he did it was something like "Yah!" or "Yeah get to it." I was not happy.

I was also disapointed by this Geostigma. It didn't even look like that big a deal. The people who had it, well they just looked dirty, and how did they cure it? They took a damned bath.

I'll never watch a Final Fantasy movie again

Man. Harsh. I didn't actually mind it that much, although the Geostigma was indeed profoundly lame, as was Nanaki's complete lack of presence.

Actually now that I think of it everything you said is true. I think I'm going to avoid thinking about it too much in case I disillusion myself.

Haha harsh review indeed. That L.A S8er boy voice was the voice of Cait Sith, not Red XIII. And Red XIII .... had so little lines true. But the same could be said of Cid and the others. This move is just simply a Cloud fan orgy. Its all about him. And geostigma is simply the presence of Jenova's cells within those people.

How did Nanaki get cubs if he was the only one left of his race anyways? Are they like clones or something? Or was that tear really sperm, and Nanaki's a woman? It's hard to tell with animals sometimes.

It isn't ever made clear that he's the only one left of his race, is it?

And I was just thinking how AC could have gone worse by picking an even less interesting character than cloud to focus on and came to the sad realisation that any one member of FFVII's main cast is more interesting than the entire casts of FFVIII and FFXII put together.

It wasn't explicitly stated in the game that Nanaki is last. Cid even told him, "maybe one day you'll find a female of your race!" on his deathbed, but maybe that was only to cheer Red up.

Anyway, I find bashing Advent Children uncalled for. It's like being disappointed of 300 the movie for not being historically accurate. I watched the movie not for the plot, but for eye candy, music, and to see my favourite characters kick ass. Which I got, although non-Cloud party members deserved more screen time.

From what I recall from a review, they view things as this.

Geostigma = Sin (dirty, evil, ugly, immoral, etc.), something related to the Original Sin from Adam and Eve.
The healing waters in the last scene was considered 'baptism', an act to remove the original sin thus how it was 'removed' by bathing.

And yes the english version sucks, made my ears bleed. I rather like the japanese with subtitles than the english one. And yes there were disappointments I have in watching the movie though as a fan, I love it, and like Cuber said, it's for entertainment, no need for historical facts, etc.
