With the amount of malls in that area, I can't believe you cannot find one, on top of that there are like 100 Best Buys in a 50 mile radius and a subway system that will take you to 2 malls with Best Buys right across the street.

Get crackin woman! Find the Wii.

edit- well about 20 Best Buys maybe 25 >.>

My wonderful C++ IDE doesn't work on vista. At least I can still program Visual C++ in a .Net environment, like that's ever going to happen. angry.gif ranting.gif

Toys R Us usually has a supply of them. A lot of people don't think to look there when they go looking for Wiis. They check Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, Wal-Mart, EB, Game Stop, etc. Check with places you wouldn't normally look for a Wii and you may just be surprised at what you'll find. I found mine at Toys R Us. I went in to look for a toy for my friend's son's birthday, saw they had a bunch in stock and ended up spending $400 in the store on the Wii, games, accessories and the gift, then another $1200 a couple weeks later on an LCD for it.

I work at a truck stop, and while I don't think the travel store has Wiis, we do sell Xbox 360's. Think outside the box.

I recommend looking in those little brochures that the electronics stores send out with their deals for the week. I found a notice about a shipment of 50 Wiis in a Best Buy one, and that's how I got mine.

I lucked into mine. The better-half and I did a lot of line waiting with no luck pre-Christmas trying to find it for the kiddies. We walked into Best-Buy back in March not even thinking about the Wii and there was one left on the shelf.

Speaking of games, the one game I'd like to purchase this year is Bioshock.

I have a 2GHz Pentium, and a nVidia GeoForce 3 with 64MB of RAM.

I don't meet the minimum specifications. I am able to play games like The Battle for Middle Earth Two, and I've been a big fan of stuff like System Shock, SS2, Thief I/II/III, and Deus Ex 1/2.

But I can't play Bioshock until I upgrade my computer. And it's not in my budget until early next year.

Hey Estarra, for one weekend can you dress up as SHODAN invading the basin for us? Maybe that will make me feel better.

Your processor isn't the problem (unless it has a low cache) so much as your graphics card (and, presumably, your normal RAM and harddrive speed, heh).

Nevermind, you need to upgrade.
Acrune2007-08-16 00:19:56
Get a 360.

Get a 360.

Sure, if you don't want to be able to customize your rig or "acquire" games or get the majority of user-created content (and even some patches).
Acrune2007-08-16 00:38:26
What I love about consoles is you dont have to worry about system requirements. If it says xbox 360 on the box, it'll play in your xbox 360. And you *do* get patches on the 360, as well as additional content for some games.

Trying to think of the last PC game I ever bought... might have been Black & White...

I'm SOOOO glad I -just- meet the minimum specifications for that game. I can't afford to update but I also really wanted to play that game. I'm sorry to hear you're gonna have trouble with it. sad.gif

I said some patches. And you get censor.gif over by some games...Shivering Isles comes to mind.

I just recently got a PC Game capable computer, after being jealous of people who could play them for years.

Still though, I find myself more of a console person. There's something about having a machine that is purely intended for gaming, rather than having all the distractions. I'm taking my PS2 to college with me since my brother got a 360, and I'm excited about getting to play and beat a lot of games I havn't yet.

But man, that 360 looks great. I'd be so excited for Halo 3 if I had one. freaked.gif
Shiri2007-08-16 00:56:35
You're not supposed to play FPSs on consoles though. Nor RTSs where you're expected to have some level of control. Starcraft 2 and Bioshock are two games I don't expect to be able to play as they're meant to be played at all on consoles like the 360. You just have to play those games on the medium they were designed for.

I'm all for console gaming - fighting games in particular can't be played proeprly on a PC without a special controller plugin, because keyboards just can't cut it. But likewise, Bioshock isn't gonna work on 360 as well as on PC.
