Got a new game, which is fine, but after a while of playing it I start to get seasick. Anyone know a cure for that?
Crackers is supposed to help with that stuff. I get carsick from buses and cars, I eat some crackers, I feel a little better.

Beyond good and evil. I hope I don't get it with bioshock too.
EDIT: Ugh, it makes the game completely unplayable. The camera makes me feel queasy when walking, and the boat thing is -horrible-.

Easily one of my favorite games. A great story and gameplay. Too bad it's making you sick though.

Ya, it looks like it would be enjoyable if it didn't make me want to throw up. Luckily it only cost me like £5. If Bioshock does this to me I'll be -pissed-.

Slugs, I hate them. They are all over my garden/yard. I hate killing them as I either use salt or something else to dry them out, it's horrible to watch. I accidently touched one with my hand and my finger went numb. The slime is horrible to take off too. Slugs need to die.

Stop playing?
REAL solutions include adding more light to the room, being properly hydrated, and wearing your visual aids (glasses, contacts) if applicable. Might also want to not watch the other person's screen.

I would agree with Shayle and say that if you start feeling that way, drink some water and it'll probably fix it. A lot of people get sick from being dehydrated and don't even realize what's happening to them.

My arm is still sore from playing House of the Dead 4 =( But gods I love seeing those zombies blow up.

something similar used to happen to me on 007 goldeneye for the n64 back in the day. i think it was a combination of the colors and how they faded into one another. it would even only happen on certain boards and such

Dimethyltryptamine works against seasickness
edit; wait wait, not that!! Dimethyltryptamine is aka DMT (a crazy hallucinogenic, imagine LSD having a mean brother who was serving life in prison and that would be DMT), I mean triptone... I think they sell it at dive shops and other outdoor places.... (I always keep some in my scuba diving bag, in case people don't like being out in boats for 12-14 hours)

Opening the blinds kills my eyes (go go hypersensitivity), and I don't wear glasses/contacts, and there's no "other person's screen", but I'll try drinking more.
And I knew Ildaudid would suggest drugs of some sort. You sure that'd work for non-actual-water-induced motion sickness, Ild?

That sounds like something you should be concerned about Eyes are supposed to adjust eventually...
Shiri2007-08-22 00:57:59
Well, I already know about that one, it's unrelated. I hate bright light/loud noises/most fabrics on my skin. Maybe keeping hydrated will stop it.
I think the problem is the camera, btw: it's DISGUSTINGLY awful. Especially when you try to use the hovercraft thing - the camera jutters up and down behind the craft for no reason. I can't find any option to change it either - the only camera option is between "normal" and ... "reverse". >.<

Yeah the triptone thing should work, it works with the inner ear equilibrium thing, and so the game is giving one of those wierd optical illusions to the brain, making it trick yer equilibrium. But the DMT would probably cause you to think you were actually in the game, and if there was any danger (aka way of being attacked) DMT is so damn powerful, you will actually feel the attacks. So that would not be wise.
I remember a buddy of mine was on the ground screaming, cuz the Aunt Jemima lady was beating him with a rollerpin. After I got him back to norm (had to shoot him with a B12 injection), he said felt every blow when he was in a corner huddled. DMT is no joke.... My friends thought I saw God when I took it and of course I thought it was wise to throw a 2 liter bottle of soda at "god" (I didn't know who it was, I just remember screaming "I got what you want" and I thought he wanted the soda, so I hurled it at him, which actually I was told later I hurled it at the couch, hitting a friend of mine with a open 2 liter bottle.)
So kids say no to DMT, say yes to Triptone!!!

Having to download more maps so I can play Halo with Krellan! >_<

The bastards who made Bioshock decided that it was a hilarious idea to release it three days later here than in the US. As a consequence, the section of my brain usually reserved for cynicism has been reserved for Bioshock since the 21st, and people are asking what is wrong with me. I feel like a six year old waiting for Christmas morning. A pity a warez copy (z makes it sound cool, also hardcore and sceneish, because correct spelling is for tools) would have taken a week or so to download. Not that I'd ever patronise anything even vaguely looking like a torrent site or p2p network for anything besides open source documents and programs.
Shiri2007-08-23 07:57:56
Yep...
Should be here this time tomorrow though. *prays*

On a related note, a pox on the idiot who decided to make Bioshock require A. online activation. B. An enforced limit of 2 concurrent installations. From what I have read, unless you uninstall the game properly (i.e. Add/remove programs or equivalent) it is still considered installed (The uninstall calls home to record the uninstallation). There are also rumours that this process may not actually work.
I was going "do the right thing" and buy it, but unless they remove their stupid DRM, I think I'll just save myself the hassles and crack the thing. +1 to copy protection leading to increased piracy instead of decreasing it.
