I never understood this.

Simple. Let's say you have two activities, A and B. Trusting your sense of observation, you came to a conclusion that you are more talented at activity A. That is, if you were to spend an equal amount of effort on both activities, you would notice a greater improvement in A than B.

Ergo, having the choice between spending time on activity A and activity B, it is better to learn A, as it gives you greater benefits.
Ergo, spending time on activity B is a WASTE OF TIME. If you do it, you are wasting your time and talent, best spent elsewhere.

In case of pasttime activities, we have to include another factor: entertainment. And it's not the case for most people, but I am NOT able to derive any entertainment from things I'm not (relatively) good in. Relatively in this case meaning of course, good for your amount of experience.

So no, I do not find learning demeaning. But I find it demeaning if you are trying to learn something you suck in. I also had to look up "factor" and "include", which I do find demeaning as well. I hate being a secondary English speaker, it's like being a secondary class citizen - or rather, forum dweller.

I tolerate other people's stupidly laidback attitude when it gets to things, so they should tolerate my more dedicated one.
Besides, psychiatrists are to cure mentally ill people, and my opinion of psychologists is too low to write without on a forum.

I finally got around to beating Gears of War on the medium difficulty frenzy.gif

Now to decide I want to move on to the highest.

I apparently have a really annoying voice, hence the lack of willing people wanting to talk to me on Skype. crying.gif

Waiting an hour for a colonizer to arrive to a very good planet spot only to find it occupied by a new player minutes BEFORE my colinizer arrived...

I remember the worst one being the "charge the goddamn chocobo across the plains with the homing pigeons." Don't even remember the butterfly one.

That's up there too. I've -watched- someone do it and it doesn't look too hard, but unfortunately it's one of those luck > skill games. Stupid birds.

I finally get my tower back from the service center only to discover that they replaced the damned writer optical drive with a ROM drive. I have 3 months worth of sales reports and pics from a family vacation I'd like to back up on disc. Someone needs to pay.

I dunno. A screw loosened, or something. But now back of my chair has issues standing upright. Whenever I lean back, it tilts back. I fall, it flaps over onto my legs. D:

What do I reflexively do every time I sit down in this thing? Lean back. sad.gif

That's probably one of the funniest mental images I've got reading these forums.

The back of my chair used to fall off when I lean back.
