Lack of rants.

The point isn't that we should be able to walk around Glomdoring whenever, but that we shouldn't have to. It has nothing to with Glom players, just with the admin and how things are coded.

Why do we keep touching on that, and then flying back off on a tangent because we're purposely misunderstanding people?

Because it's such fun to bash heads on the forums, I suppose?

I still have no objection to some of these creatures being elsewhere, even upon the little forested island in Bondero.

Yes, I think you're right. The mechanics are the source of the issue, but it does keep feeling like an attack on the players who are just roleplaying what makes sense.

So a few spiders would be great! Hell, a lair of spiders!

BRING ON THE SPIDERS.
Ialie2006-07-01 17:54:32
Why not just make spiders a playable race and kill the newbies as they come.

COOL I CAN PLAY A SPIDER!

Arix2006-07-01 22:12:06
large groups of people who have nothing better to do then stand outside a city for the express purpose of pissing people off. It is childish, and I know that means little coming from me, but I have to say it anyway. Grow up, people

For the record, killing spiders does not enemy you to the village they're found in.

But, if you're noticed, it does enemy you to the org that controls that village.

Also, there is only one spider in Dairuchi.

Would you care to lay a wager on this, Cuber? Me walking into the Serenwilde, greeting pixies and petting squirrels, was classified as an *ATTACK* by one of Serenwilde's GMs here on the forums. So was a dreambody standing at the Mother waiting for a certain event to happen. Neither of us were being aggressive, neither even attacked one of the non-loyal things hopping about the forest much less one of the loyals.

From the Leaves:
QUOTE
1) Peaceful visitors within Serenwilde jurisdiction will be treated as such.

6) Spying on members of the Wilde in any way, shape or form is prohibited and an enemyable offence. Attempting to dreamweave in the Serenwilde will be treated as such and offenders will be enemied immediately.

Enemies are not "peaceful visitors."

QUOTE(Xenthos @ Jul 1 2006, 01:47 PM) 304185

Really? Xen's used it a number of times. It's even in our laws with that exact phrasing.

4. Members of any organization which has declared its purpose to be the destruction of the Glomdoring are not allowed within the Glomdoring. Not even to use the arena.
Serenwilders are banned from entering the Glomdoring.
Celestians are banned from entering the Glomdoring.

2. Trading with any members of an organization which has declared its purpose to be the destruction of the Glomdoring is prohibited. While they may not be enemies, they are part of an organization which seeks to destroy our home. As such, there is no reason to provide them with the Glomdoring's bounty.
The organizations banned from trade with us are:
Serenwilde
Celest

And that amuses me quite a bit. Must have missed when we declared that. Though I haven't missed being told and telling others that destruction, even if it were possible, would be a Bad Thing. Even our most fanatical people know that (or should, if they've been paying any attention).

However, just because Glom's destruction would be a Bad Thing, that doesn't mean we've looked on its continued existence as is as a Good Thing. tongue.gif

Guess it's a matter of perspective, too. The fleas on a dog's back are going to view the prospect of a bath as destruction of the nice environment, whereas the one giving the bath cares about cleaning the dog, not the fleas. happy.gif

I'm not really sure what your point is. I said that me being there was considered an attack, so why would Serenwilde enemies in the Glomdoring not be considered doing the same thing?

I really dislike it when people who really should know better keep coming into said territory, especially to hunt for spiders, causing such totem/statue modifications.

Er, that wasn't aimed at me was it? NM, it wasn't.

I also dislike when people feel the need to trap/tackle/whatever into guards when they can easily kill you themselves because they VASTLY outnumber us.

I also hope that if/when Hallifax/Gaudiguch come back, I can actually like, go into the cities. I'm tired of being restricted to the same places, regardless of whether or not I'm enemied.
Thul2006-07-02 08:04:04
Sun allergy kills? WTF? doh.gif

I've already said I hate it when people kill Gognigin. I really, really hate it when I'm coming in to turn 30 merians for cash when I'm near-broke, and I come into his room just in time to see J. Random Celestian teleporting off with his corpse. It pisses me off immensely that this happened THREE TIMES today.

If you're wondering why it rained merian bodies over the Pool of Stars... yeah. That was me being pissed off and having a distinct lack of things to do with 30 bodies. It made me feel better. But still, Raikogen, if you're reading this, please go choke. On a cock.
Xenthos2006-07-02 08:11:28
Less choking on chickens.

Less ... too. I realize it might make sense for a tae'dae, but unfortunately it makes my mind spin. wacko.gif

I hate having to pull arguments out of my ass so I don't have to snub Forren when he bitches about me killing merians EVEN WHEN I HADN'T TOUCHED THE BASTARDS ALL DAY.

I hate Celestines trying to jump me. All it does is make me lose my bashing spot for 10 minutes. Amaru never killed me, Shamarah's not going to kill me. It's a waste of time.
Forren2006-07-02 08:40:57
Meh, it's just RP. I thought you had been bashing there, so I try to make you feel guilty for hurting those poor, innocent merians!
Sylphas2006-07-02 08:50:40
I know, but then I have to try and make it sound like something besides "I do it because they're right by the gorgogs and decent exp/essence".

I hate immature behavior like dropping things a billion things at someone's nexus or leaving flamed annoyances places.

I also hate people who waste essence! Offer those corpses!
