Campus opens at 10AM today because of snow/ice, which means I don't have my first class which is the one I am doing really bad in and we were supposed to have the first half of our review for our final today :|!!!!

My campus opened on time... as always. We could get a foot of snow, have it still be snowing, and we'd be on time So depressing going to school when all the other schools in the state are closed or delayed.

Its now 10:20 pm, the night before my group report and presentation is due, and as far as I know, 2 of my 4 group members have yet to submit their part of the paper and powerpoint, so the final report isn't compiled yet, and I wanted to see it before we turned it in, due to them repeatedly showing me they're incapable of doing anything right. I also just finished doing the group homework assignment by myself, for the third time running, because its easier then getting the group to meet early in the morning, having half of them not show up, and the other half not knowing anything.
I hate group work.
I hate group work.
Been there. In my econometrics class, the final project was to create a working multiple regression which would demonstrate or invalidate a hypothesis of our own creation. The professor put us in groups of three, and told us we each had to make our own regression and papers, totally unrelated to one another, but that we would be graded as a group average.
I know he did this so he didn't have to fail people. At least, that's my suspicion based on how he formed the groups. The practical reality was, I did mine. Group member A had a random blob of statistical samplings for his variables with one week left to go. I did all the substance of his paper and let him finish up. Group member B wrote very well, but barely spoke english. I did his entire paper, told him what to say on presentation day, and crossed my fingers that he wouldn't contradict himself. Ultimately, I ended up almost giving both their presentations for them when they'd bring up their power point slide of the regression, look blankly out at the class, then look at me.
I earned the ever-loving crap out of that grade.

Ugh. I'm fed up with working out 4 times a week. My right shoulder was almost fully healed but, now, it is starting to ache AGAIN! I hate my job, it is so futile. The people I work with constantly get on my nerves. Some of them, I want to punch in the face. The few I appreciate, I never work with and I'm trapped in routine... and I LOATHE routine. And the customers who think cooks and waiters should bend over for them, they can all die slowly and painfully. I really wish I could tell them what is on my mind. I can't wait to quit my job.

Kettlebells, friend. Great for working out -and- recovery.

You should get a job that involves punching people in the face, then you could combine your interests.

I'll keep my eyes open for a news story of a cook impaling someone with a spatula while screaming "Navaryn SMASH!"
Navaryn2007-12-06 17:35:44
Spatula will be used for clobbering. Impaling will be done with one of our big, mean kitchen knife.

Yeah...it doesn't seem to want to believe I have a port on the front of my PC for headphones. I can use them, but only if I unplug the speakers at the back (and the EDIT: cords, not cards...must have been reading about MTG when I wrote this aren't long enough for that.) Looks like I have to get new headphones too...

Well, yeah...
Also, ports for just about anything in the front rarely work well (if at all), unless you have an awesome mobo.
Shiri2007-12-07 15:30:37
It worked well the whole of the time we had the last sound card. I'd just plug the headphones into the port at the front and they'd override the speakers (and turn the volume up, for some reason, but that's easy to correct.) Then when I was done I'd take 'em out. Np.

Normally, you can have speakers and headphones hooked up at once. It works with my new computer. It worked with my crummy old computer.

Walking outside today to see that my license plate has been stolen. I just wish I hadn't gotten all ready to leave and walked outside through the snow to find out.

Guess I'd forgotten that, not having had more than one main sound port since I got rid of that crappy mobo with one in the front.
